I am so discouraged. I am at my highest weight ever and have cut out what I love best -- bakery treats! Not a cookie, donut, coffee cake or even muffin has passed my lips in a month. I haven't exercised, as regular exercise - but have been consciously more active by doing more heavy duty housework more times a week, going up and down stairs more often, parking in spaces farther away, etc.

Yet in one month, I yo-yoed up and down 1-2.5 lbs. and have ended up only one half pound under my starting weight - OH so discouraging!

I have been researching Curves on the web and seen a lot of positive things about it and am considering joining. I'm wondering if anyone here is a member, current or past, and might have any input for me?

thank you!
Kris

I do not do Curves right now, but I have signed up for a study that they are running, I begin on April 16th. I have been following WW for 5 months and have lost a little over 22 pounds, but seem to be stalled for the last 4-5 weeks so I am hoping that by trying Curves that I may see a difference. I guess some times dieting alone just doesn't work.

I did post a thread further down on the boards about Curves and there were a couple of replies, you may want to read it and see what they have to say.

Good luck.

I've never done Curves, but I did visit the local place Friday to find out about prices and stuff. I'm used to gyms and Curves is very different. It is just a bunch of machines in a circle. Apparently this way people aren't as self-consious and more motivated. I thought it was overpriced. However, I've know lots of people who did really well with Curves.

I am a member at Curves and personally I love it. What I find about it is it only takes 30 minutes 3 times a week and with it being curcit training you don't even have to think about it. They also weigh and measure you so you can see your progress. I find it's pretty low impact so your not really sore after and in between your on what they call rest stations where you take it easy and push yourself on the machines. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. I've been a member for 2 years now.

the hardest thing about curves is just getting there for me,just the drive if I'm feeling unmotivated..but once I'm there it's easy peasy! I have fibromyalgia and am super outta shape and I can do it fine, just have to keep up that motivation:cool1: :thumbsup2
