3 weeks ago, our poor pug started with weird symptoms, breathing hard & had a high fever 104.5. our regular vet was closed for the weekend, so we had to take her to another 'er'.
xray & blood tests & $$$ later they said she had pneumonia. sent home with 4 weeks of drugs. also told, should NOT worry about other dogs around her.
4 days ago dog #2 started coughing. called our vet. they said could be anything, but if kennel cough they like to leave it alone without meds. dog #2 happened to be with daughter on an out of town trip, got concerned took it to a vet & that vet said dog had kennel cough, & gave her meds.....
now pug had a very high white blood cell count, which vet said is NOT kennel cough ( but the pneumonia) & when she did cough it was very different from dog #2.
now yesterday dog #3 is coughing........ arrghhhhhhh
guess I'll take dog in monday, but from what vet said & what I read online they usually let it run its course.
now I am concerned pug & dog #4 may come down with this!
( btw all 4 had previously been vaccinated for kennel cough)
anyone familiar with this & have some 'happy' info they can give?
