Anyone currently at Disneyland/DCA?

Amazing time tonight at DCA! Very little wait times...there were people in the park, made it feel festive but not crazy. Walked into Disneyland for a few minutes just to shop, busy but not the uncomfortable insane days when all passholders have access...made it worth every penny to have a Premier Pass for both coasts. ❤

Im back in my hotel room, and what a day at DCA. As I stated earlier, DCA was like a ghost town in the morning, comparatively.
It got busy but manageable at 1pm or so.
I pretty much got to do the everything in my plan, and at least 6 additional rides not in my plan, plus I did a couple rides twice. Near the end, I was trying to find things to do while waiting for WOC....

There were two bad things though.
First, was minor, but they cancelled at least 3 showings of Disney jr show that my boy loved last time... oh well.

Second was the dessert party for WOC. Disney messed up BIG TIME. When I got to the line, there seemed to be a lot more people than usual. After removing some of the people who didn't realize they were in the dessert line, there still were many more people than possible unless they really expanded the area. It turns out that there was originally only one party starting at 8:15, but they added another time. But for some reason it was marked as 7:45, instead of, I assume 9:45. So everyone for both parties showed up at the same time, which was crazy. There was at least one woman at first arguing, then close to tears, because her kid couldn't stay up that long to wait for the later party.

Long story short, Disney had to give out some refunds if your group didn't want to wait, and if you did want to wait you could get your bands early so at least you didn't have to wait in line twice.

I was lucky enough to get the 8:15 showing, otherwise I would have to cancel, since my boy is 6 and couldn't stay up that long.

Tower of Terror showed a 13 minute wait all day, but it was a walk on most of the time. We were able to ride it an amazing 10 times, 4 with late check out. This was not our goal (we were hoping for one, maybe two), and we were able to do plenty of other amazing things. It was not overly crowded at DCA and not too bad at DL until late afternoon. We will back tomorrow for more fun!

Wow. Thanks everyone for your updates on your park visits. Sounds like a great time to be in the parks. Please keep them coming in. I will be in the parks for a few days after Christmas. I think there will be an uptick in crowds, just not sure how much though.

Happy Holidays.

Yeah, I noticed TOT having a 13 minute nearly all day too, I only went on it once, since it is not my sons favorite thing to go on. Not sure why, I was assuming it was going to be packed.

It was busy on the 25th, but not as bad as I was prepared for it to be. With careful fastpass planning, the longest line we waited in was 20 minutes (Pirates). I did see postings as long as two hours though (Hyper and Indy, but I used FPs for both). Haunted Mansion Holiday posted 90 minutes at times, but the fast passes were within 60 minutes of the wait time in many cases. We'd get one, go on Splash, the Tiki Room, Pirates, or use another fast pass, and come back, many times passing the people in standby. The most frustrating long line was the bathroom in NO by the train station.

I am not a fan of crowds and never thought it was as bad as visiting Disneyworld at Christmas.

Another great day!

Today was insane. Waiting for fireworks. We got stuck after PTN in a mass of humanity that wasn't going anywhere. My son was freaking out, but we went behind a trailblazer, and got out of the worst of it. The lines were fine in morning, and about 11am it became insane, and hasn't let up. I saw 120 minutes for haunted Mansion, but we had fast pass, and it still took about 20 minutes to get inside even with FP.

I'm leaving the resort tomorrow morning.

Random thoughts. It was very busy, long lines for some rides, but never hit capacity. I don't think it went to stop selling tix even. It felt worse I believe because there were a LOT of people who didn't know their way around.Lots of people stopping in the walkway to figure out which way to go. You could feel the difference between this crowd and an AP crowd. (Not saying either are good or bad.) Saw a guy trying to buy beer at Bayside Brews, he was heavily intoxicated and security was escorting him and his teen daughter out. Saw so many lost little ones. Felt bad for a couple. Also saw a lot of happy kids. I love watching a kid see something for the first time! CMs were all very chipper and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. The frost your own cookies from the Festival of Holidays is very good! Wasn't expecting it to be. We finally rode a ride (Little Mermaid! Been here 4 days!) So much to do, rides aren't a priority. Saw Mickey's Magical Map, good crowd for it. No trumpet player! It definitely was not the A team, but was fun checking out the differences. It was a great day!

Malcon, I agree about the people not being familiar with the parks! I also saw a lot of CMs explaining FPs to people. While in line, we explained the rides and FPs to people as well. People did not even know what they were in line for (oh, is this a ride on HM or a show in the Tiki Room). People just saw a line and got in it. I think that might be why they did not run out of FPs as fast as usual.

We stuck to Frontierland, Aventureland, NO, and Critter after lunch. I wasn't going to try to cross Main Street or go by Fantasyland or Tomorrowland after that point of the day.

Castmembers were great from our end too! Loved the Candy Cane Beignets!

The fireworks were almost cancelled due to wind, but they went on after a few minutes. Trying to leave after fireworks, was nearly as bad as after ptn, but at least it didn't come to a standstill.

Overall, I am probably not going to go again during Christmas Day.

The fireworks and ptn were very nice.

And yeah, I was hearing cast members trying to explain fastpasses, etc to people. One person was sure you could only get 3 fp a day, and the poor cast member did her best to convince her. I had people come up to me and ask questions twice even, which I usually never get.

Thank you all for your posts! Very helpful and informative. Not surprisingly, post Christmas seems to be busier than pre-Christmas. We are planning to go to the parks tomorrow.

If anyone is there today please let us know how it's going. Thamks!
