Anyone cruising May 8, 2004 Western?

I think my husband may actually go to the formal night when I tell him some of the guys are wearing sport coats or just a dress shirt and tie. My husband is a blue jean sort of guy. His parents weren't farmers, but most of his relatives were on his Dad's side. So my husband worked on farms as a kid, and dressing up just wasn't in his vocabulary. We are plain eaters as well, none of this fancy stuff. His relatives are German Baptist (like Almish), so
he's used to meat, potatoes and home made breads, pies, etc.
Gosh I can't wait until the cruise. I'm going to try a Konk Kooler too (just won't tell any of the relatives, LOL).

tell hubby not to worry, there will be plenty of us out there, as far as a meat and potatoes guy, being an Irishman, I can relate. the menus look good, each rest has a plain steak, baked potato or rice..

we will be fine.

My husband is a very plain eater and he was worried about all that "fancy cruiseship food". He doesn't like any sauces or many veggies. He even has his salad without dressing, nothing, just dry lettuce. (YUCK) Even his tuna is almost dry because he doesn't like mayo.

Anyhow my point is, there is something for everyone there. He just always had a steak, some sort of beef, or chicken. Nothing fancy, and once the server knew his likes and dislikes it was easy ordering.

And then there is always Topsiders or Pluto's.

Thought I might get flamed. Glad other guys going have the same idea. I could put on the little black dress and white sandals and we could all meet by me. LOL . Don't get any ideas.
Glad to see everyone is getting their docs. Has anyone not received them yet??? If so, heres some pixie dust in hopes they come to you by Friday. - Mike

I have not yet received my docs, however TA says they are on the way from Dis. They will check them over and be on their way to me...so any day now...whoohhooo.....

Well, let me know if you decide on that dress and white sandals. I will counter that with a tie and sportcoat...I'm sure I'd be much more comfortable....

Besides, after a few drinks....few will notice...

Yes people are excited about the cruise, this being my first. We are all overly anxious to go. Unfortunately this time passes so slow and the cruise so quickly and before you know it we'll be right back here! BOOHOO...

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to meeting new people and laughing a lot. I could use a good laugh or two.

Don't even mention being back home after the cruise.
I won't let my mind wander that far yet. I just keep counting down the days till we leave and the week on the ship is going to drag on and on.

Well I'm not buying a black dress - that's for sure. I did just buy a new Reyns Mickey Surf shirt. Maybe I will wear this instead (with some other items appropriately placed - not going down that road again). I really am looking forward to meeting everyone. ...something about ....by the pool.....on saturday...i dunno.....do we realize how many people will be by the pool....werent' we all supposed to wear green something? ...a green hat? I forget...

Formal meet - 3pm on Monday at the Promenade Lounge (by the alcove?).

Informal meet - Saturday before the lifeboat drill at the Mickey pool
