Anyone consider a 7 night and decide it was too long?

We've done 3 nights, have 4 night booked. Trying a 7 night the year after seems to make sense but I wish there were more differences between the ships. My kids are too young to snorkel so its more about the ship. Besides being on the ship longer, I would guess most people like the 7 night over the 4 night because of the new stops on the itenerary. Anyone else wonder if 7 or 8 year olds would get enough out of the ports of call on a 7 night to be worth it? I would be more excited to try a 7 night if the shows and dining where different when changing from Wonder to Magic. Any thoughts?

No, i only find the 7 nights not long ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been on three and my kids have been 4 and 7, 5, and 8 and THEY LOVED IT! They enjoy the ports, but we never do anything really HEAVY...We usually have our own beach day, and they love it....

Of course itineries are nice, but we love everything about the whole week.. :goodvibes

go for the 7 night - you won't regret it! There are some different shows - Twice Charmed, Who wants to be a Mouseketeer, etc... And tons of activities. We certainly were't bored on our trip and very much look forward to going again.

I agree- 7 nights are not enough! I could have stayed on the ship much, much longer! My kids (10 and 6) never got bored on the ship. We didn't do much in the ports of call, so the ship definitely had enough to satisfy them (and me). One excursion we did do was the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman. My kids LOVED that. My daughter (6) still says she could have stayed there all day! I have some great pictures of them picking up the smaller turtles.

I think that if you go on the 7 night cruise, you won't regret it.

Our first 2 cruises were 7 nights and the kiddos were 6 & 9 on their first cruise. They didn't want to get off back then and are still enjoying the 7 night cruises. We did a 4 night in Feb and they were missing the other nights. Our kids love the sea days and CC. After 4 cruises there are still things they haven't done. The youngest started in the club and is now in the Lab. Or is it the other way around. He loved the step up and the new activities. The oldest has made great friendships through the dissers onboard and enjoys the limited freedom we allow her.

We've done the Dolphin Swim, snorkel trips (didn't like the 1st one, but are willing to try it again), Conch Republic tour, Grand Cayman tour (loved the turtle farm). The oldest did the horseback riding in the Rainforest this past trip and is still talking about her experience.

I guess the answer depends on your kids. So far, our kids are not board with the ship or it's activities. pirate: We like to play "what if we hit Lotto" and back to back DCL cruises are their first responses.

I hope this helps,

NO! Personally I think Disney should come up with more 10 day itineraries. I think 10 would be perfect! :Pinkbounc

My 6 year old loved the 7 night. First cruise for all of us and there was plenty to do both on the ship and in the ports. He is asking to go back and we will probably return January 07. Not too long at all.

My first cruise was 14 days, also did a 10 day, and five 7 days. 7 days is too short.

Due to DH's schedule we have to cruise when we can go which is normally during the school year and I work for the school system. So we can not always do a 7 day cruise. Oh yes it is my preference, but we take what we can get. I agree 7 days will pass by very quickly. I would love to do a 10 to 14 day cruise but our schedules does not allow that.

Just back from 6/26 Wonder. Can't believe I feel this way after wanting to go for so long, but I don't think I could take a week of it.

I'm just wondering, what didn't you like? Anything in particular?

I agree, 7 days is tooooooooo short, I cast my vote for a 10 day itinerary. DH is trying to convince me to dump the kids for our Dec. cruise and rebook just me and him on the 14 repo cruise back from the west coast. :boat:

Last year sailed 7 days with a 4 and 8 yr old and they loved it. We took them off the ship for a while in St Maarten then took them back and did an excursion while they played in the kids clubs. In St Thomas we all went to Paradise Point and shopping then back onboard.

DH and I really enjoyed the days at sea and fear that we will miss the 3rd sea day on our Western cruise this year.

We started out with a 7 day & I honestly don't think that we would do a 3 day...possibly a 4 if the kids didn't come with us but that isn't very likely. The kids can't wait to go back & we just booked #4. :)

7 is definitely not too long. If I wasn't a teacher, I would be on one of the repo cruises but I was still in school for the May cruise and will return to school before the August trip. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to work and could take our kids out of school whenever!! :cheer2: :cool1:

I have done a 3 day, 4 day and the 14 day Repo cruise... I could have spent another week!

Unless it was free or just could not pass it up, I do not think I could do a 4 day anymore.

There is no such thing as too long. Regardless of how long you are on the Magic or Wonder the saddest day is the day you have to leave.

Jillpie - I loved everything, but I just don't think any longer than 4 nights is for me. DH could have skipped days 3 and 4 for his part. He isn't a water person, so he was on the CC beach fully dressed down to socks and shoes.
He never even put on either of the two new swimsuits I bought him.
On Wed. (day at sea) we were in the shade by the pools while DD played with friends. He said "if I had a car, I'd be on the way home right now."

I'm quite positive that my next cruise will be without him, just like my last WDW trip and that's OK.

He loves the mountains and not the water (except for his fishing). DD and I like both. To each his own.

7 nights weren't enough! We booked 14 night repo! Are you sure your kids are too young to snorkel? My DD5 and DS9 LOVED it. We snorkeled at St. John (St. Thomas port on Eastern). It was perfect for first time snorkelers. The water was very calm and warm. My DD5 was so excited!!!!! They are both good swimmers, but, you basically wear a float and float around.
