Our friends are flying down and checking in to CSR in the middle of our two week Fort trip. They want to come early and join us for a couple of days before their package vacation begins; we want to do it as much above-board as possible. We have a room-only reservation, so they wouldn't have to buy tickets or anything to be added on to our reservation. We wouldn't have a problem paying extra for a couple of nights, but my understanding is that they would have to be on our reservation for the whole two weeks... we don't want to pay two weeks' worth of extra fees for two nights! My wife said she "heard" that there's no extra fee, but that doesn't jibe with my memory. So what is everyone's experience with having more than two adults at a site?

Cosmic what are your accommodations. If you are CAMPING you can have up to 10 peoples on your ressie no extra charge if Cabin then you will pay extra for guests for duration of your stay unless you change your reservation for them to be there

FtW Mike is right.

For campsites, there is no extra person fee or extra adult fee. Last trip in January I had 6 Disney adults (all 18 years old or older some MUCH older, heh heh) and there were no extra charges for site 116. Just rack rates and taxes.

For the cabins and on-site resorts, there might be a charge for extra adults but I haven't stayed in an on-site hotel resort in 22 years.

So add them to your campsite reservation - no harm, no foul. :bored:

We're camping at a partial site; it will be 10 people total with everyone there. Thanks.

The cabins and the suites at Art of animation do NOT charge the extra adult fee. We have stayed at both with 3 adults listed on the reservation package and were not charged extra.

ETA: this past November, the 3rd adult was only there for the first 3 nights of the trip. We had a package and just bought 3 day tickets with the package and then added days for those of us that stayed the entire time.

If you don't want your friends to be on for the whole trip you can just add them when you get there for the length they'll be with you.

You won't be charged extra for them with a room-only campsite reservation.

Disney Resort room rates are based on double occupancy (2 adults per room). Any additional adults will have an additional fee based on the tier of the resort:
Value Resorts $10/night/additional adult
Moderate Resorts $15/night/additional adult
Deluxe Resorts $25/night/additional adult
Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Family Suites, Wilderness Cabins, Wilderness Campsites -No Charge

FYI, they can't use Disney's Magical Express until they are officially on your reservation.

If it won't cost any extra, I don't see a down side to it. It's not like the magic bands will get them into our tents when we don't want them. :)

We're considering adding them when we get there; it's over a week before they leave, so scheduling DME pickup shouldn't be a problem, but it's probably not enough time to get them their yellow tags (not the biggest issue).

Their travel agent thinks having two reservations active at the same time could be a problem, but couldn't we just link their names on the campsite reservation to a different MDE account? Or not link the names of those other guests to any MDE account?

Cosmic Remember DISNEY is the ultimate Capitalist entity. You want to shell out the MONEY for multiple reservations they are very HAPPY to take it. If they want to pay for a hotel room and sleep but stay at your camp site DiSNEY got their money and will be fine with it. If you have control over your reservation call DISNEY and add them, tell them they are family that have moved in with you Have Magic bands sent to your residence and you will be fine.

It won't mess anything up to be on 2 reservations.

I AM RIGHT???? Now I know something is up. Normally I have a very responsible position around here If something goes wrong I am responible. The only other plausible explanation is Ed met up with Rusty Scupper for lunch at SANAA

If these rates are correct, I sure would like to know why they have charged me $25 per night, per extra adult both at Pop and Sports. I'm checking back on all my receipts, but I'm nearly 100% positive that I've always paid $50 extra per night to bring two adult children. Always at value resorts.

I just went to the website and looked at a reservation with 2 adults compared to 4 adults at pop century and the difference was 10 per extra adult per night. So the rates seem to be accurate. Not sure what happened in your situation.

I looked up all my trips in the past few years and was only charged $10 extra per person, except the most recent hotel stay in December 2016, at Pop. They did charge me $50 extra per night. This must be why this amount stuck out to me. Will contact them about that. I'm sure they will give me credit for it. Must have been some kind of snafu.

We've only stayed at the Fort since then, where we can bring everyone who wants to go, with no extra charge.

Whoa, steady there Mike. Let's not get crazy or anything.

Could have been a fluke thing. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, Scupper says. :confused3

Hey Mike, now you know how I feel. Actually I think the response I got was something about "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while" or something like that.

tell them they are family that have moved in with you Have Magic bands sent to your residence and you will be fine.
I wouldn't even bother telling them that. They don't care if it's family or not.

Just add them to the reservation and be done with it. Let them keep their other reservation on their MDE too. So what if they get 2 magic bands.... So what if they have 2 reservations....

I also would do it sooner rather than later too. That way there is no questions about the MDE. (Not sure if there would be or not because we have never used it. No need when driving down with a camper. :D )
