I haven't been keeping up with the details of Ivan, in terms of it's course, but I have a question for those of you who have. First I'd like to say I understand it's too early to predict anything with any degree of certainty, and I know it can suddenly change course. With that said, do we have any idea of approximately when it would hit FL (if that is what it ends up doing) based on the location that it is at right now? Are we talking next week? The following week? DH and I are scheduled to leave for our postponed trip on Saturday, 9/19. From what you all have heard about the storm, is it possible to know whether Ivan will have hit by that time or could we still be in danger of encountering it?

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

Unless it did something totally screwy like leave Florida and then come back, you will be in the clear. It is predicted (and remember that really means 'educated guess!') to be its closest to WDW on Tuesday morning (9/14).

The official reports for the path's are put out every 6 hours (5am, 11am, 5pm, 11pm est) at the National Hurricane Center's website.

You can see the predicted path by clicking on Hurricane Ivan Maps and Charts link and see probabilities there as well.

The link is: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Hope that helps! :)
