Anyone calling MS this morning?

Oh, man... Now hubby is really gonna try to get me on a plane! RATS!

Actually this is surprising, it would seem rooms would be a a premium there with the celebration... And they are now lowering the points?!?

I'm disappointed they waited this long to announce such a deal. We just made the final cash payment on our stay next month. We went with cash since the number of points required were so great.

I got told by my guide - that Ca laws require timeshares (real estate) to be forever - DVC won't do this. (we all know that Disney wants it property back...)

So unless for the Ca - DVC is changing their contracts?

this has been proven (i.e. there is no such law) to not be true... it is simply a dvc urban legend...

IMHO - If they are opening a DVC resort at DL, lowering the points and getting some of us out there to enjoy the sights and wonders of DL would be a PERFECT place to start the selling! You know they are the masters at marketing. I see this as being hand in hand with possibly a new DVC resort, not a one or the other situation.

Has anyone seen this on the member website? Maybe this is what the meeting was about...

Visit the place that started it all
The world is celebrating the golden anniversary of the Disneyland® Resort with the Happiest Celebration On Earth, and Disney Vacation Club is making it easier than ever for Members to enjoy Walt Disney's original Theme Park.

As part of the celebration - known in California as the Happiest Homecoming On Earth - Members may enjoy reduced Vacation Point-exchange rates at the Disneyland Hotel beginning on May 5. Call Member Services for details.

If you already have reservations to check into the Disneyland Hotel on or after May 5, you should expect to hear from Member Services soon regarding how many of your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points are returning to your Membership.

There's never been a better time to visit the place that started it all, and it's never been easier to do so through the magic of Membership.
Wow! Thanks for posting this. I wonder how much they'll reduce the points cost by? I'll have to call MS to look into this.

If anyone finds out the reduced points amount please post! We are going to DL end of July and not staying onsite :guilty: but if the reduced points make sense well....just might have change some plans :earboy2:

Thanks!

At which resort and view?

Disneyland Hotel (the only hotel that the special is for). Standard View (cheapest category).
That's disappointing. I know friends who have a points reservation at the GC and they were hoping for a reduction in points as well.

I am in CA and going to DL Thursday and Friday. I will try to get some information and pass it along.

I spent two days in DL and did not see any DVC booths or indications that there was any activity going on there. Has anyone else heard anything new?

The DVC booth(s) are not suppose to open up until the 50th starts on May 5th.... Give or take a day or two.

My guide call a couple weeks ago about some add'l add on points and talked to my husband since I wasn't home. Said she was moving to California - hmmmm
