Has anyone called Disney reservations and just asked right out if the CM would check to see if any discount codes/pins were associated with their (or spouses) name? If so, what was the outcome??
We've never stayed on property, but have purchased tickets online and purchased tickets for special Disney events. I've also had the Disney Visa for years. But no postcard in the mail.
BTW, are the postcards still coming?? Anyone just get theirs in the last day or so?

I called yesterday to ask if we had any discounts associated with our names. The CM was very nice but said no, and that I could of course book something now and keep my eyes and ears open for any discounts to apply in the future. I told him we were on a budget so I'd just keep checking back. We'll hopefully have our adopted son by the time so we'll be a family of 3 children/juniors instead of 2. We wanted to really take advantage of the 40%, but not willing to book the code without the PIN as it would really put a damper on things if we got there and had to pay the difference.

I asked and was told that I had a 30% off code, but the dates are not what I need. I am planning a trip during the 40% off deal, but that one isn't attached to us, so I will just stick with AAA for now.

I tend to book what I can afford and if a deal comes along later that lets me book for a little cheaper or book a little better room, then I do so. I can't tell you how much it stinks reading about all of the 40% off stuff. I would LOVE to have that code for our stay, because it would make it possible for me to have my ultimate dream of staying at AKL actually come true. Maggie

I hear ya! I feel like I've done what I can to get on their mailing list (purchases online and their Visa card) but nothing. Its especially frustrating when you hear people say they didn't get a pin but "faked" it and got the rate anyway. With my luck, if I tried that I would get nailed.
I keep hoping in the back of my mind that someday we will get a decent enough discount that my practical side will give in and we can stay at the Poly or Contemporary. Even at 40% off, the Poly rates are hard to swallow in exchange up a brand new 2bedroom with full kitchen 1.5 miles from the gates...for $118.

you can't fake a code...it can either be applied to your package or it can't... As for the rest of it...speculation and rumors and most likely of very little consequence in the end. :)

I just got off line with Penelope at WDW reservations....I have not rec'd. a pin or code... She looked up my address and said I had a PIN for Jan. and Feb. of this year....give me a break. I told her we plan on coming in August. She said she had nothing for us. Also, she told me if you do get a room discount you cant even purchase the DDP. That is the first I heard that one.
Can anyone dispute that??? She said it would be better to pay the reg. rack rate and buy the DDP. That relly threw me for a loop...She told me the avg. person spends more than the 39.00/day pp on food....I dont know about that....
I also asked about free dining offers...she didnt think they would offer any more....just go with it for the bounce back people....
Boy, that really ruined my day....

Opinions please!!!

I called this morning to see if there was a code/pin attached to my household. The CM was really nice, but told me "no".

To the above poster, you can definitely spend more than $39 per day on food. Unfortunately, it's not hard to do, especially if you have at least one TS meal per day.

There are 2 ways to book, room only or package. Room only deposit is equal to one nights stay and package deposit is 200 dollars. packages need to be paid in full 45 days in advance and there are cancellation penalties after that. Room only can be cancelled up to much closer to check in but I can't remember if it is 1 or 5 days. packages can include the dining plan but have to include some type of ticket purchase. Everyone in the package has to have the same tickets and dining plan if you add it(unless they are under 3)
If you have AAA you can book a room only reservation yourself with Disney but if you want a package you have to have AAA book it. If you are not using AAA you can also book your package yourself.
This current round of codes that have been discussed here recently have included a room only code and a package code. If you were booking the room only then the CM was correct that you could not add the dining plan. If you were booking the package then by all means youcan have the dining plan.
hope this helps;)

I called twice and the only code I had was for Jan/Feb. I didn't get the email for the Jan/Feb code until 2/1. I had nothing for my dates in August. I got so excited when I got the email and here it was for Jan/Feb. :confused3

I gave it a try last night and got shot down.

We're going anyway. Off-season (August), Contemporary MK View, 8 Day Hopper, DDP. You can't really beat Disney's Package anyway.

We're just hoping for free dining now.

:rolleyes1

I was freakin' out a little...I called and explained that I received a garbled email but wondered if it was a pin code and the CM looked me up and said I did have a pin....I was estatic....it was from disney destinations.

I called multiple times trying to figure out what rooms were available for the dates [not much left]...when I finally committed to the dates I wanted, I called back and got a clueless CM who asked me for my 3 letter code, I told him I just have a pin with my name...he clicked on keyboard and was like 'oh I see it'...gave me a heart attack...then he also tried to tell me it was just Jan/Feb [hello it was February 4 when I received email] and I explained that I was told multiple dates...he clicked away on the keyboard for a while and said oh yeah...you have those dates too...I said I had to go and called back later and got a better CM who took care of me.

Ok, at the end of last week, I called to check and see if I had any "codes" or whatever with my name. I had not ever received an email or a postcard for the 40% off, but.....when they checked, I was told, I had that special associated with my name. While this is a great thing, it didn't help me one bit because it's not within the date range that we can go:sad2:. So my advice would be just to call and see since we had the 40% off associated to us and didn't even know it:wizard:

I called two weeks ago and asked if I had a code, and was told "no". :sad2: I called again last weekend looking to change resorts with the park hopper and water park code I had booked and they didn't have the room/resort I was looking for. :sad1: I asked if I had a pin code associated with my name and they said yes! :cool1: We are traveling in mid-May, so I knew it wasn't the 40% off code, but it was significantly less than the free park hopper and water park code we had previously booked. :thumbsup2 Not sure exactly what we got, but we did save $$. We were adding dining, so the CM said the code was different than the "room only" code. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We just called today. No code :sad2:

We usually go to Disney once or twice a year. Have never stayed on property but have purchased tickets many times. We just applied for the Disney Visa last week. I am still keeping my hopes up. I have heard that people are still recieving the codes. Hoping for some pixie dust for us. I need a vacation to look forward to. pixiedust:

Isn't that the truth. I am hoping to stay at the Poly this trip. All of our past trips have been in a two bedroom with kitchen 1.5 miles from the gates.
