Well, we wanted to go in Sept or Oct, but I am pregnant and will be too far along for the car ride (24 hours-eek!). So, I am defaulting to a secondary plan...
What about going in January when crowds are lower, temps are cooler, and baby is two months old? This will be our third child, we aren't newbies with the little ones, and I figure the little one will eat, sleep, and poop at home; or eat, sleep, and poop at Disney.
Am I nuts???
I have seen lots of newborns (and I'm talking a few days old...) at the parks, but is this a good idea? Have you done it? I want to make it work so bad!!

Check with your Ped first. I would not bring a baby that young around that many people. Other people may feel differently but we get sick every single time we go to WDW no matter what we do. I would not want my infant to be exposed to the germs there. JMHO of corse.

I agree. In fact we didn't take our daughter out much at all the first 3 months until she had all her vaccinations. We took her out for small walks each day and a few times to the grocery store but we soon stopped that when we noticed how many times people coughed right near her/next to her and didn't cover their mouths!!! :scared1:

There are just too many people at WDW for me to feel comfortable taking an unvaccinated baby.

I'd probably plan for maybe last week of November (just after Thanksgiving)...weather is cooler, Christmas decorations are up and your baby will get to celebrate his/her first birthday at WDW!!!

We took ours when she was 2 months in October. She was so easy, and her ped had no problem with it,we even took her on a plane to get there. We are not the type to stay in because it is a baby, and both of my girls have lived to tell about it. Have a great trip and take lots of pictures.

btdt dd was 7 weeks old when we took her last sept. for older dd's birthday with the doctors blessing. it was a great trip. she slept in the sling most of the time.

WE took our DD in Jan. when she 2 1/2 months old and it was just fine. I had said before I had her that I would never go until she was older, but it really was fnot an issue. We flew and she slept the whole way, I had a bottle ready in case she woke up, but she was perfect. We brought our own stroller so she could sleep and took full advantage of the baby changing stations. My ped had no problems at all.

WE are going again next week, so I will let you know how it is going with a 6 month old!! :goodvibes

I say go for it!! Especially since this is not your first child. Both of my kids went everywhere I went right after they were born. I can't stand to sit at home. You will have a great time. Just remember to pace yourself and take advantage of the baby care centers. My DD 5's first trip was at 9 months(right after daddy got home from Iraq) and my DD 2"s first trip was at six months (right after daddy got home from Kuwait). Had my husband been in the states they may have went sooner. :)

We did DL with our DD4 when she was 6 weeks old. She was great on the plane, and great in the parks. No problems whatsoever.

My youngest went to WDW at 7-8 weeks(it was February '06) for her first trip..it was great! I took a stroller, but mostly carried her in a Microfleece Peanut shell sling...That was she was close and warm and pretty much kept away from the germies..lol

I´d take the baby. I should add though that we travel a lot with our kids and as long as they´re strong and healthy I see nothing wrong with taking them along, anywhere. One of my DD´s was 3 weeks old when we took her on her first international flight. Other DD was 2 months old when we drove from Copenhagen, Denmark to Frankfurt, Germany with her.

We took a fourteen-week-old to WDW in December. And on our return flight, a family was traveling with an 8-week old.

Our little guy went everywhere beginning when he was about one week old. He went to school with his big sister (lots of germs!), bowling and ice skating with his mother and big sister, restaurants, stores, San Diego for a long weekend (two weeks old) and a number of other places.

Check with your pediatrician first. A lot depends on the infant's health, vaccine schedule (no children, so I have no clue about that), etc. He or she will be the authority on that!

We took our son when he was 8 weeks old. Just after his first vaccinations. We had a great time. He slept and ate whenever and where ever. He loved all the lights and music. He was so great. And now we have great pictures for his baby album.

We're headed there for the day on Saturday with our boys and almost 7week old. I just plan to have her in the stroller or in my Mei Tai.

Wow, thank you all so much for your feedback! I have never used a sling before, but definitely want to purchase one for this baby (especially if we go to WDW!). Does anyone have one they love and recommend? If so could you please include price and where to purchase?

Please continue your opinions, I value them all!

I will give you some of my favorite baby carrier links!!!
First i would totally recommend going to http://www.thebabywearer.com/ there is a TON if info and really great people!!
For a newborn i love ring slings http://sleepingbaby.net/ these are great and Jan is so nice to work with..she will answer any questions you might have!
I also loved my Peanut Shells http://www.goo-ga.com// again great customer service..these are also sold in some Target stores, but you have a much better selection in the site..
Ok my favorite..once they were out of the teeny tiny baby stage.. My beloved Babyhawk Mei Tei..lol I had so many of these. You can wear on front..facing you..or your back, which is so nice when you want to get things done around the house. http://www.babyhawk.com/ they are great and they make a Toddlerhawk for when the baby gets bigger!!!
There are also Beco's and connecta's and wraps..there are so many GOOD carriers..good luck, it can get addicting..lol

We took DD7 when she was 5 months and had such a great time with NO problems that I didn't even hestitate to take DD3 when she was just 2 months. She just slept the whole time. She was easier then my then 3 year old. I can understand the health issues...I think every time we've come home for the last two years, someone has strep, pink eye, gastro problems, or at least a common cold. The thing with my two months old though, was we kept her covered and the only thing that touched her were my hands (or DH's) and we just made sure we washed all the time!!! My DD3atthetime had a bigger risk IMO because she touched everything.

Good luck and have fun if you decide to go!

We went last fall when dd was 4mo and she did better than ds who is 6.. impo I agree with pp that the baby is the LEAST at risk for germs bc they are usually right under their mommy!! It is toddlers and small ones that you have to worry about! Anywho she did great and had no problem just going with the flow.. in fact she did so great that we are going again when she is 13mo!! Just make sure to run it by your peds!! Hope yall have a great trip!

Our fisrt DS made his first trip at 9 weeks and our DS#2 went last October at 3 weeks. It's really not a big deal it may be hte easiest trips you take. All they want to do is snuggle and sleep you take them nearly anywhere, rides, resturants, etc and they just go along, our 3 year old now not quite as laid back.......pirate:

You know your fmailies limits having 2 other children and know what it takes to handle an infant you'll be aces.
