We'll be on the Magic. I'm definitely bringing the stroller b/c I know we'll need it for the airport, around the ship, etc. Baby will be 8 months. Have you brought the stroller into the ports though? I asked the one tour company (Nativeway) if we'll be able to bring it on our excursion. I'm wondering about bringing it to Paradise Beach?? Castaway Cay?? What have others done?? Should I bring my Macleran instead?? I prefer the Citi Mini if it doesn't matter.

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the different strollers, but DO be advised that you will need to store whatever you bring in your cabin. There is not room in the hall for them to be kept (plus it's a safety hazard).

We brought an umbrella stroller at 7 and 17 months. The smaller you can go the better. Some people had monster strollers and it's a nightmare in hallways, elevators, etc.

We brought our travel stroller and had no trouble using and storing it our cabin. CC also has stroller that you can use when you are there. They we right next to the WC and wagons you can borrow. I don't remember what kind they were, but we had no trouble dragging it through the sand.

We travelled with 2 daughters and families. They each had 3 kids ranging in age from 12 weeks to 6 years. Each brought a Citi Mini type strollers. My wife and I were in the Walt Disney suite, so we got to store both strollers when they weren't in use. We only did excursions on Grand Cayman and did not bring the strollers there. I don't think we would have been able to get them on the tender ship with the rough waters.

Our Castaway Cay stop didn't happen since the ship couldn't dock that day.

We have taken our City Mini Single on 9 out of ten cruises and the only reason it didn't go on the last one was because I went on a last minute cruise with the girls and the kids stayed home. I think it comes in handy if you are a pool person. My kids use it to lay down in the shade and nap, especially when they were younger. Also, if you still want to walk around the ship and your kids are tired or asleep, it will give you some freedom so you don't have to go tot he cabin early. It fits great under the bed so it's easy to tuck away and when you board it's nice to hang all the stuff we walk on with. On issue that didn't really bother me but might bother you it that it will not fit through the cabin door. you have to fold it but as you know that is a simple pull on the handle. I did not have problems fitting it though any other doors. Hope that helps.

Thanks! Have you taken it to the beach?? I'm worried about ruining it or it getting stolen also. Thanks for all your feedback!

this is one of my concerns as well. holding the baby and getting the stroller, our bags and our 5 yr old on to the tender.....I'm sure I can't be the first one w/ this issue on a DCL cruise so I was hoping maybe someone had some ideas on this??

Yes we brought ours before. Folds up nicely in closet although it does take up some space or would fit under bed I would imagine as well but did not try that. As far as excursions we saw loads of strollers getting on the tender. Nativeways boats are very big so you should have no problem with that. Also they transport you in a big tour van to the dock so should be easy there too. I would probably take the city mini vs the mac as it is one handed flip when folding up vs the mac which takes a bit more to fold up albeit not much more. lol I am like you and preferred my mini to my maclaren.

We don't take it to the beach and I don't recommend you do. They have city stroller with bigger wheels and wagons free to use. It's first come first serve but they have them at both tram stops. Most people get off on stop 1 and then they have a bunch sitting at stop 2.

Where do they have this? CC? We are also heading to the beach in Cozumel....thinking we will need the stroller for walking to transport and around a bit before getting back on the ship.....

I have both a city mini and a maclaren which DS has now outgrown. Just noticingthe few people who were pushing strollers on the ship, it can be cumbersome to manuever and makes the hallways very crowded. I'd go with the MacLaren for space purposes.

Sorry, I should have clarified I was talking about CC. We did the EC and only took it off in San Juan b/c we we're walking Old San Juan to meet family in St. Thomas we didn't want to deal with it. It was a chore with 3 kids but my Youngest was already 2. On the Bahama cruises we almost never get off in Nassau.

I think the pax bringing the stroller needs to and should consider the other pax, not only their own convenience when deciding which stroller to bring, and when to use it.

If an umbrella stroller works for you and is less bulky, then that is less bulky for everyone else to manoeuvre around. It is everyones vacation after all! :)

Umbrella strollers are uncomfortable for the kids IMO since most do not recline. We took our Jeep Cherokee or used one of the ship's strollers for several cruises. My DD was comfortable and safely confined in her stroller when we went into port. A happy child is better than a grumpy one because they can't be comfortable enough to nap if necessary. We used the stroller much less on the ship than you do in the parks, and we used one there for years. Avoid the midship elevators when you have a stroller because those have the biggest crowds during prime times. We still do this "trick" when onboard even though we don't have strollers now. If you are on a low deck and want to go up, take the elevator going down. You will find hardly anyone is waiting to go down. This will get you settled on the elevator and it will be going up in a matter of moments. It often fills up on decks 1 & 2 and is full by the time it gets back to deck 4. Do the same thing when on the upper decks and want to go down. ;)
