I was looking at Amazon.com and it appears that the 2005 edition of Kelly Mongahan's Universal Orlando book is available. Has anyone bought it and it is much different than the 2004 edition?

I have it and read it cover to cover, a great book!! It has some updates in it of course as things are always changing at Universal so I normally get every edition.... :sunny:

I have the 2003 version and am wondering whether or not to update.

I bought it, and read it twice, and feel like I'll only need to read it one more time before we go. :teeth:

The only thing it doesn't have, that I wish it did have, is pictures. They would be nice.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

i'm glad to hear you guys think that it is worth it. i just bought it off of amazon the other day and it is going in a box with park maps and other universal goodies for my nephew who i am surprising next week as a graduation gift. he loves to read everything about the place he is going and plan and this book is right up his alley. :umbrella:

I cant compare the 05 with the 04 or 03, but I just finished reading it cover to cover... has tons of great info in it!
I highly recommend it!
Great book!
In fact, I will be sure to read it again at least once more before we leave. :)

Maybe *I* should write a book. Then you could buy Kelly's book and mine! :p

Great idea DM! You could call it UO from the inside out. Don't know how your employer would feel about that, however!

I recommend the book too. I normally get each edition because I like everything together in one volume and it's an excellent book besides.

Thanks for this thread! I didn't realize there was a new edition and went and picked it up at Barnes & Noble tonight as mine is a couple of years old. Love the book Kelly I've been paging through it this evening- I can't wait to settle in with it tonight and really read it through.

I bought the book and though it is filled with great info...I really wish it had pictures. Since I've never been to Universal...the pictures would be a great help to me. Esp in showing the kiddos. Every year I buy Birnbaum's book and the pictures are what make it a "must read" for my kiddos. (the young ones) I esp like the color coded pages so you don't have to flip through the entire book to find a section. In Kelly's book, it's hard to find a page once you've closed the book. (glossary, here I come!) So even though it's a book filled with lots of info, it's not a very visual book. Just text, text, text.

I bought two of Kelly Monaghan's books - Universal Orlando and The Other Orlando. I was surprised to find that both books are completely posted on his website. I looks like every chapter is printed in full in addition to the updates.
