Hello :wave2:

After (I think, I hope, I pray) finally pursuading DH that spending Xmas 06/NY 07 at WDW would be truly amazing, I am spending a lot of time getting prices etc.

Anyone else already booked up for this time of year (not this Xmas, next Xmas)? :confused3

What sort of prices have you paid, and who did you book with?

We are thinking of booking it separately (DIY) as it is a bit cheaper (altho Xmas is really expensive anyway)!

We have worked out roughly that it would cost about £4850.
That would be for 2 flights, 2 weeks at All Star or Pop, £1500 spending money, 14 day unlimited Disney Ticket, 5 Park Flex, Insurance, and a cab to and from the airport.

Does that sound about normal?

All the brochures I have are working out about £5300 ish, but by DIY'ing it, I can save us about £450  .

Also, how much is a taxi from Orlando airport to WDW (roughly), as if we book separately we cannot get the coach or magical express?

Thanks

I belive you can use magical express so long as you are staying in a Disney property.

Ooh, hope so.
So, how would that work, as if we had booked the hotel through disney.co.uk, they wouldn't know what flight we were on, so when we got to Orlando airport, who would we need to see to organize the magical express thingy? :confused3

We have already booked for Christmas 2006. We were due to go this year but had to postpone due to ill health in the family - its going to be a long wait.

Flydrive with BA for 4 = £2065.00
Timeshare swop for 2 weeks at Sheraton Vistana = £200.00

Not sure yet what attraction tickets to buy but will include WDW, IOA, Universal, Seaworld and Busch Gdns.

I am a DVC member and will phone member services to ask. I read on another thread that it did not matter which airline you flew with so long as you were at Orlando airport. You could try Disney direct as if you were going to make an ADR. I am sure someone else on the UK board has used it though. There is a thread here on one of the boards about it perhaps you could do a search or ask on the USA disney resort board.

Let us know what you find out.

Good luck

I have just read on the mouseplanet site that currently magical express greeters come and meet people at the terminal and if they are going to Disney Resorts tell them which buses to board. Apparently it is illegal for them to solicit people this way and can only now greet them at the baggage claim

try this llink

Hope this helps

Thanks Susan (Sue?)
Not sure what you prefer.

Have a nice day! :sunny:

Great Flydrive price with BA - did you book it with BA direct or through someone else ? Also what dates are you travelling as I know this can make a difference to the price. I'm still trying to persuade DH that Christmas 06 in Disney will be a great idea !!
