Anyone booked the Sweetheart Dinner for 2?

This afternoon I called about changing a reservation I have at Narcoossee's on 2/13 and the CM asked if I would like to book the Sweetheart Dinner for 2. I believe it is offered at most or all of the signature resort restaurants. She said it is a selected set of options on a Sweetheart Dinner menu that includes an appetizer, entree, shared special dessert with a glass of sparkling wine or grape juice. You get to keep the toasting glasses and a commemorative menu. The cost is $150 plus tax. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy with a $10 penalty so they take a credit card when you reserve the package.

Has anyone booked this or done it (assuming it is being offered now)? Does anyone know anything more about it? Was it something more special than ordering off the main menu? Was it worth it?

I wanted to do something special with my husband so I am willing to pay this if it is really worth it.

Thanks for any info.

I have honeymoon clients who decided against it since it's not covered on the DDP. They have deluxe dining and are booking several signature locations.

I heard it was not included in the dining plans so I definitely would not do it if I were on a dining plan but we are paying out of pocket. I picked Narcoossee's because it is a special occasion for my husband and me.

We go without the package and get to choose whatever we are in the mood for off of the entire menu and pick from a number of different wines by the glass and spend about $150. If we decide to cancel the day of our reservation we don't get charged anything,

I get the package and have 4 entree selections instead of 10, no choice in dessert, not sure about appetizer choice and a glass of mountain cuvee or sparkling cider and spend $150. I get 2 souvenir toasting glasses and a commemorative menu. If I don't cancel within 24 hours they charge me $10.

Am I missing something

I have no further insight, what this package is like, but to me it does not sound like a good deal. For 150 $ you can have a very nice meal for two with a drink. I would rather have the flexibility to order what I really want than to have a commerative menu and glasses that might break on the way back home. :goodvibes

I haven't done it but it sounds like a great deal for dinner at a signature with drinks. I would do it for sure if I was not on the DDP

It is new this year and i have not seen any reports back yet

I am not sure it is a 'value' either. Like PP have said, it is a limited menu, don't know hte choices for any of the courses. I also don't want the glasses, have no use at home for them and don't want to deal with them in my luggage either. I don't drink, and 'sparkling juice' is not exactly on my list of :woohoo:

For now, we will continue to just book on our own. I am sure there is a market for this type of offering, but many DIS'ers will be passing :thumbsup2

I haven't done or heard about this, if this so, I'll surprise my DH some other time if we are both vacant. I'm excited to surprise him, knowing that his birthday is coming. :love2:
