Anyone booked flights with eDreams?

Now that Christmas is over we're finally getting ready to book our flights for October. So far eDreams is coming up cheapest, with BA flights being £2000 for 2 adults, 1 child (more than I'd want to pay ideally but we're reluctant to wait much longer before booking and don't want to fly indirect) I'm just wondering if anyone has booked with them before.

Wouldn't touch them - have a google....:sad2:

eDreams = Opodo = Govolo = Govoyages (for french DISers) = ODIGEO Group
that's the same company

I wouldn't touch them with a mile long pole ... (the only TA/booker that's worst is travelgenio, and spanish based bookers in general)

They have great prices but can sometimes overcharge for hidden fees.

They're good when all goes well, but should you have any problem, like a change in your itinerary (wether on your part or on the airline's part) then you stand alone and in the dark

you most of the time have to deal with them, and you can't sort things out direct with the airline as your file is locked and can only be managed by the TA/booker. (unless it's changed for edreams, so any DISer with recent first hand experience who has been able to manage their flight directly with the airline, please step forward :p )

I had to deal twice with this company (or a branch thereof) and it's only been a PITA, almost had to go to court ... (I won't rant again, I've already done so a couple of years back)

If all goes well, they have very interesting rates, there's no denying that.
But know who you're booking with, and be aware that they'll leave you stranded at the first grain of sand the whole machine comes to a stop ... ridiculous wait times on their customer service line, only to get an operator who barely speaks english and who probably never even say what an airport looks lke from afar, and who only tries to stall you until you give up, in the hope that the next operator will get your next call ...

forewarned if forearmed. This company works quite well and cheap for many customers.
But for many other customers, it can turn the whole thing into a nightmare.

If it goes well, then you will have saved a lot
It it doesn't, then you will have paid more than you saved, in phone bills and fees even before getting to the airport.

flying direct might alleviate the risks, since most of the risk is tied to flying indirect and having cancelled flights and changes in layover times, sometimes for too short a time to make it.

But, at least, you have a first hand opinion and experience.

The prices always looked great for me (much cheaper than booking directly with the airline) but when i searched the internet I found a lot of negative reviews so I didn't book with them.

Im too much of a worrier to take that kind of gamble with my holiday.

I ended up booking directly with American Airlines for a similar price (I held out).

Hope it all goes well whatever you decide :)

Thanks for the advise. It looks like, as with most things, if something seems too good to be true it probably is!

hi, where are you flying from ?, we have just booked our flights through Disney U.K flying with B.A economy seats and we have paid a little over £2k for 4 adults, flying direct from Gatwick . £2k for 2 adults and 1 child sounds a lot.
cal:)
