We're planning a May 2006 trip, is it too early to book? Can I book with my AAA now even though it's so far in advance???

The only reason I wouldnt book is beacuse it would drive me crazy with excitement thinking about my trip for 2 years, have funn planning!!

You can go ahead and place a "hold" on a room -- you or your TA will make the reservation and you'll pay the deposit like always, but your rate won't be set in stone until 2006 rates come out later this year. So your rate may go up if they increase for 2006. AAA discounts are not released yet, either. So either you or your TA will have to check back to have that discount applied if it becomes available. But uf you're traveling at a busy time of year or just want to be certain that you get the room type you want at the resort you want, then go ahead and book it. I've booked for Jan. 2006, but I'm going for the marathon and figured things might get tight in terms of availability later.

so for April/May 2006...when would be the right time to book? Unfortunately I'm going to be driven crazy with excitement from now until then regardless of when we book *pouts*. I mainly want to book because we're going to be saving up from now until then to pay for the resort anyways so I just thought why not?!?

When do 2006 rates come out btw? December of this year?

DVC member and already have OKW for Jan 2-6, 2006. Never too early to get the rooms you want. :cool1:

We are planning on a long (11 nights in WDW at least plus 5 or so in Clearwater/St petes) Florida holiday in Dec/2006. As soon as WDW release their 2006 rates, we plan on booking. I think the rates will be posted Fall/2005 for next year. Maybe someone knows for sure (when the rates will be available).

we are planning it BUT cant book it yet,,who knows,,WDW may have some GREAT new packages out,....i am soo silly we still have a visit in JUNE and I am already pre=planning 2006,,hhehehehheh.....

Last year, it seems like the 2005 rates/packages were released mid-summer - like late July or August.

I have already booked for my trip January 2006.

The only downside to booking before the rates for 2006 come out is that you will pay the current "prevailing rate," i.e. the standard rate plus tax for your deposit. If you are travelling during value season, your room rate will likely go down for once the rates are realeased. If you are going during regular or peak season, I would expect them to go up slightly.

The reason I book early is so that I can start to chip away at the cost of the room and I won't be liable to spend the money ahead of time.

Marathon?! Did I miss something here? What exactly are you talking about?

Every January WDW hosts a marathon and half marathon road race. This coming year the half marathon is on the 7th and the full marathon is on the 8th. The event tends to draw bigger than average crowds for that weekend, which is why I went ahead and booked my room (so I have somewhere to collapse after I run the marathon!).

Well, I tried to book for room only in December of 2006. It's early, I know, but thought it would be nice to have it paid off way ahead of time. Apparently, with all new changes in ticketing, etc., Disney has also changed their booking policies and will only book 500 days out! We've always booked a long ways in advance but I guess we'll be waiting until August this time.

I haven't booked yet, but plan to in the next couple of weeks

I'll be booking for Jan 2006 at the Contemporary

We have not booked yet for 2006. We are going to do a split stay CBR, AKL for 7 nights. We are going in January. If they come out with some good deals, then we will just pick one resort and stay there.

Thanks for the heads up - I will do our ressie and deposit today for
June 24 -> July 7, 2005 @ the Dolphin.
The only 'deluxe' near EPCOT/MGM we can afford with AP or AAA discounts. :teeth:

I just called - Starwood will not take a ressie until June 2005 for June 2006.
They are only booking out as far as Feb 2006.
Oh well :rotfl:

I have us booked at POFQ for Jan 1-8, and have paid my deposit. I plan to pay $100 a month the rest of the year to have as much paid in advance as I can. :earsboy:
