Disney for Christmas? If so, what did you do on Christmas day? Where did you eat?

Also.....if you had small children, did "Santa" bring gifts to the hotel or were they waiting patiently at home?

We've never spent Christmas Day away from home (but in lieu of everything we've been through this year, I couldn't face Christmas HERE.) I just hope it will seem as special being that we'll be in a hotel room with just strangers around us.

We have spent 3 Christmases at WDW. We love it. As far as presents, we have older boys but I would probably leave "Santa's" presents at home, maybe bring one he "mailed me ahead cause he knew we were traveling" and have mom and dad presents at WDW. We took a friend of our boy's last year and he told some kids at school it was his best vacation ever. We gave them money to spend on the parks, took them to WL to use the power boats for a couple hours and have a nice lunch and had a few small things in the room that morning. I also took Christmas cookies in Tupperware and had a few decorations. Not as many as I would have liked.

As far as being with strangers, you are never with strangers at WDW, I think. People are more friendly and it felt more layed back this past year. Maybe cause my kids were on their own and just DH and I were in the parks together. We had a great time.

Oh yeah, dinner was at Prime Time. We had to wait 2 hours with PS's. I would probably do a dinner at a resort next time.

The only "plans" we have so far on Christmas day is to attend Church in the morning & then at 1230p, we have to have our friend to the train station (she's meeting us at WDW from California) as that's the day she has to return home.

Do you think if we made ressies to eat at an "off" time, we wouldn't be waiting quite as long to be seated? We have a 22 month old & it won't be any fun for anyone if we have to wait that long!

Weve never done it, but we will this year.
Santa will deliver his gifts to our home as usual and they will be waiting under the tree for us when we get home. Rushing off to EE on Christmas morning will give us no time for gifts and besides, Santa cant get them all on an airplane.

We plan to do the CP packagae on Christmas Eve, eating at Le Cellier. Like I said, Christmas morning we plan to do EE, and eat a late breakfast(10:00ish)at either Cindys(yeah, right) or Chef Mickeys. We will then spend the rest of the day checking out decorations at the other resorts. Im not planning on another big meal that night and as of right now my top choices are burgers at Beaches & Cream or appetizers at the lounge in the WL.

We did it last year and loved it! We surprised our kids with their traditional "Santa" gifts 2 days before we left and I held back some little (packable) things for under the tree in WDW.

I took some cheap lights for the balconey and a cheap mini-tree. Had lots of fun decorating the room, too. I learned that it is a tradition in many families to string some lights on the balcony. I took an extension cord, too. The balcony had an outside plug.

We did the Candlelight processional on Christmas Eve and it was very, very meaningful.

Our Christmas dinner was at Tony's in the MK because we wanted to sit outside and watch the people on Christmas day.

Wow, I'm not sure I'd want to be away from home ON Christmas day. Maybe someday I'll try it. It sounds like it could be fun, but I get really mixed emotions even thinking about it!

DisShopKeeper ~ I too never thought I'd want to be away from home on Christmas but my Mom recently passed away (who lived with us) so all I can think about is NOT being here for Christmas this year!

We always go at Christmastime. Just make sure you dont go to the MK on Christmas day. We did that one year and never again. They had to close the park cuz of the crowds.
