I would like to take my boys and husband during our vacation in August. Anyone have any reviews?

I thought that was in Chicago.

If I am correct in what she is asking. It is a play/show about a wedding. The only difference is that you are a guest at the wedding. The Bride and Groom are of course - Tony and Tina. Kinda virtual reality wedding. Is supposedly a blast.

Update:
I found that it has other shows in Maui, Vegas, Vancouver, Detroit, New York, Toronto and Philidelphia. I couldn't find anything about it being in HHI. Here is a link to the website

I am not sure, but last week at the mall near DVC HHI, there was a wedding spoof going on in a former store. it sounded like people were having fun and the ad said something about audience participation. Don't remember the name though.

I've been to the one in San Francisco twice. The first time with 5 friends. Two hated it and walked out. My other friends and I liked it.

The second time was with my office group - about 40 people and we had so much fun.

You need to be open to participation and go with the flow. You can even dress up if you'd like.

Well, for those of you who have been to DHHIR in past years, former CM Kathy (of lifeguard and campfire fame!) is producing this version of Tony & Tina's Wedding in Hilton Head.

I have plans to see it this weekend and can't wait. I think it's great that Kathy is doing this, although I certainly do miss her here at the resort. :(

I saw Tony & Tina's wedding in New York and it was really a good time. I saw it with a group of friends who were mostly skeptical before hand but all left having had a good time and enjoyed it.

It is basically an interactive theatre show (play) based around an italian wedding. As disneyaholic had said, some people do dress up (in NY many did and at first thought we were underdressed) to get in the spirit of it all. It is appropriate for all ages but has some humorous references of adult nature that will go over most children’s head (not perverse in any way - no need to worry). It is a fun show and worth seeing for anyone who enjoys good humorous, energetic theatre. Two thumbs up from Boston...

Disneyaholic, would you please let me know if you enjoyed the show? I went with a group of girlfriends three years ago in Cleveland and we had a great time. I was wondering if this was a professional production or more of a community theatre type of production. I know I will enjoy the show, just don't know how my husband and and two boys would like it.

Thanks for your help.

Saw Tony & Tina's Wedding in Chicago for my Mother's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. HOWEVER, how old are your boys, because there are some aspects of the wedding that would be unsuitable for smaller children, say under the age of 16. My aunt, who is a nun, was also in attendance, and did find some parts of the show offensive. (wife of the father of the groom doing a strip-tease on the bar, for example)

We went to a version of this and if the one in HH is similiar, I would not plan on taking younger children/teens. It was a fun evening, but more adult orientated. We enjoyed it but we had a group of adults, and I think if you go in a group it is even more fun!

If you do see it in Hilton Head, I'd like details as we are going on 7/10 and this is something I've been thinking of doing at another location....

Sorry, guys -- had a change of plans and didn't get to see "Tony & Tina's Wedding" this weekend. :(

BTW, I'm pretty sure it IS a local production. I will at least try to ask a few more questions about it, even though I didn't get to actually SEE it.

We arrived today for our annual week at HHI so didn't get to see this thread. Tony n' Tina's wedding is a great play, although I haven't seen it at HHI. The website for local HHI information is:

http://www.tonyandtina.net

The cast is listed and the price is $42.95 per person ( $39.95 ticket price, $3.00 handling fee ) includes show admission, Italian dinner including wedding cake, champagne toast and dancing. I believe they will be continuing the production through Labor Day.

We have debated about going to it here but with only six days - no Saturday points for us - I'm not sure we will have time. Besides as other posters have noted, our DDs (six and ten) are probably a tad too young for the play, although as "Father of the Bride" maybe I could dissuade them from getting married. LOL

Just finished watching the Shelter Cove July 4th fireworks, with a glass of wine - great show. Tomorrow night is "A Private Affair" with Chef Gordon. Another treat is the Longview Cooking Club wine pairings on "Members Day" Wednesday. Plus Webmaster Doc is lurking here somewhere!

On Tuesday the girls get to have a dolphin cruise with Captain Scott ending with Tuesday's Shelter Cove evening fireworks viewed from the water.

What is DDad going to do for an encore? Arrggghh, I think some pirating is in order followed by lots of pool and beach lounging.

Happy July 4th and keep our troops safety in your thoughts and prayers.
