Does anyone know if I need to book anything for this and what they offer to the public? Not sure how it works ,what happens etc.Never been and wondered if there is anything special to do. Can I use combi credits/snack credits and do they do tasters for people to try /buy.

Basically there's lots of kiosks around Epcot's World Showcase, representing different countries or sometimes cities.
Each offers small tasters of food and drink, usually between about $4 and $10 each.

I believe you can use dining credits but I'm not overly sure of in which way :)

I loved it and will miss being at Epcot without it there

There are also 'Eat to the Beat' concerts at the stage in America, we saw Kool and the Gang there :)

Here's a link to this years concert line ups as well as last years kiosk menus

This is my first F&W too. They set up international booths all around the world showcase and you can sample foods from the various countries. Same for beverages. You can use snack credits but not CS credits or just buy the samples OOP. There are special events going on as well and those you do need to pre-book. It really depends what you want. I will try and find the page with all the info and photos for you and post a link. It is a lot more clear when you can visualise it. :goodvibes

When we went there were 4 of us and we shared 1 or 2 dishes from the kiosks they had set up.

Some were also going round on a booze trip from the look of it!!

I believe there are some special events that can be booked - when they have certain chefs making talks and cooking if you want to pay extra.

We went last year and loved it. We sampled so many different types of food and some of the items can be purchased with your snack credits. You could easily tell if you could purchase using credits as items would have a dining plan logo next to them.

Also my husband purchased a card which attached to his wrist, this allowed him to try different beers and wines and not have to bother getting his wallet out all the time....any money left on the card can be used on any other purchases arroung WDW

Oh yes, I should add that you can't use snack credits for any alcohol, but you can do as Sapper383 did and purchase a gift card for booze spending. On that topic, it is generally recommended that if you wish to avoid scenes of overindulgence, it is better to attend during the week than at the weekends (specifically Friday and Saturday nights) when many locals come in for the evening.

This is going to be a must do for my DH he looooves food!! But I will have to do all the reading up because he takes NOTHING in, unless its to do with Sport, Diving or Food:confused3

THEN when it comes to going he will be all 100 questions and I will want to punch him:rolleyes1

But seems as though its a Disney thing and he is working really had to pay for it all  I'll let him off:lmao:

I love Food and Wine Festival, really, it's pretty much the prime reason we enjoy visiting at that time of year!

As mentioned, avoid weekends at all costs if you can. If you absolutely have to go at a weekend, hit WS when it opens and then leave the park by late afternoon and go elsewhere. Not just because people can get tipsy, but because it is insanely MOBBED.

Snack credits - at least in the past - are useable for most items but there are a few exceptions (the Maine Lobster Roll from USA is one that springs to mind) - basically any of the items that cost in the region of $4 or so can be bought with a DDP snack.

If not on the dining plan, you can load up the aforementioned gift card to buy stuff with, it's on a little wristband so you don't have to root through pockets and bags for money/room charge all the time. That said, I keep my roomkey on a lanyard and it's not that much of a biggy so how much of a convenience that can be is relative.

There are various demonstrations - both free and paid for - however all but the Sam Adams beer tasting one requires tickets now (I think) and need to be booked in advance. Booking line opens sometime in July iirc and the popular ones do sell out. It's also possible to book at the F&W welcome center in Epcot on arrival if you prefer to stay flexible but no clue what availability is like or if they hold tickets back for the day either.

Check out www.Disneyfoodblog.com (fab blog for foodies!) - in particular their F&W section - oodles of information and pics :)

You're talking about 2nd of October, right? Just I heard someone say the other day that each year they do have something of a 'soft opening' of the F&W Festival where all the CM's get some practice at working the booths. This is obviously unpublicised but presumably if it were to happen then it would be the day before the Festival starts, which would be Thursday 30th. Might be worth looking out for if time is tight to otherwise fit it in to your trip.

We spend one night every year start in Mexico get margaritas, move round sushi in japan, spring rolls in china mini pizza in Italy, glass of wine San fransisco stand, one at Australian stand, samosa from Indian stand, champagne and crepes in France, over the bridge and chips from uk!! You can use your snack credit for each of the food bits, but need to buy drinks!! Wooohooo can't wait!! X

WOW:woohoo:This sounds fab and my god where did you put all that food:confused3 Didnt realise they did other countries(india, australia) which are not in epcot.Does this have an impact on the resturants? I would think you would be full never mind have a TS meal. Going the 1st and 5th and have lecellier (not cancelling as first time ever been able to get in:rotfl:) reppan edo and coral reef booked. Might cancel one if all this food availible. Are the alcoholic drinks expensive? What do people put on their wrist bands (dollars I meant)

You finally joined! :yay: Can't say anything until you get a proper

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

You have some lovely restaurants booked. Don't go cancelling anything. What time are your reservations? Your strategy will have to take this into account. There are some links on this thread that will give you an idea of prices as some folk have taken pictures of the menu boards at the booths. Are you guys on the Dining Plan? (Sorry, can't remember) You can use snack credits for some of the tasters. :)
