Im hoping to go there for the creme Brulee trio, but someone said they discontinued it? any one know for sure? I hate to go there when thats all I want, kids are eating off the menu but not me, just the desert.

My dd and I went for her birthday (July 13). We love the creme brulee trio, but we usually ask for 2 chocolate with the 1 vanilla.

The bad news--yes, they've stopped offering the trio.

The good news--they still have the dessert, but it's all vanilla now. The other flavors, according to our CM, just did not go over that well.

They still have the treasure chest with the shortbread cookies but the little pots of chocolate and...was it passionfruit?...are gone.

ETA: you would think I would remember this, but I don't! I *think* they have 2 of the regular pots of vanilla, but I'll ask my dd when she gets off work. We shared the dessert so it seems like something I would recall, since we actually had it 2 nights in a row just a month ago!!

Yep, we were just there this past week and you get two little pots of vanilla creme brulee with the cookie chest. They didn't actually HAVE a dessert menu to give us, just three choices or so (cookie boat, creme brulee, and I think some sort of ice cream).

so only 2 creme brullee ? bigger cups or the same ones? and also are there chocolate deblumes any more?

Wow, I wish they would stop downgrading this place. My hubby and I loved this dessert. Its a pretty pricey place to keep limiting our choices more and more every time we go back. The scenery can only make up for so much you know?

You still get the same amount, I think, because the vanillas are in the larger, regular-creme-brulee-looking dishes as opposed to the tiny pots that the other two flavors came in. When we went in January, we ordered the trio and were given one vanilla and two little chocolates. We were told at that time that they were out of the passionfruit flavor and decided we preferred having 2 chocolates instead, so that's how we planned to order it the next time. Then the next time we discovered they'd done away with both the chocolate and the passionfruit! I did like the chocolate, but I still love the dessert and the vanilla is the best of the 3, IMO, so I'm ok with the change.

We are always given the chocolate doubloons when we take the little kids. When we went for dd's birthday dinner/dessert (no kids) we got them, but when we ordered dessert only the next night (no kids), no doubloons. I'll bet if you asked for them they'd give you some.

Thank you all so much !! I will then go I am now a happy camper again!!

I think this is a real shame - the trio was actually my favourite pudding and I really liked having the variety of the three different flavours...

Guess maybe I'll try the cookie boat this time as I'm not sure I fancy so much vanilla :sad2:

I can confirm it is only 2 very very small vanilla's and I wasn't impressed I ordered this on my birthday and the cookie boat was 1000 times better...I love creme brule but I can buy a frozen one at Safeway and bake it myself and it tastes way better....Blue Bayou wasn't a great exp. but Cafe Orleans on the other hand was excellent.. that was the best meal I have had in years.. we had the Gumbo & Monte Cristo as well as split a couple orders of the Pomme Frites with Beignets and Banana bread pudding for dessert was soooooo good my only problem was dinner took over 2 hours do to our waitress being very swamped with 3 big(10+ peeps each) besides ours and drinks took over 30 mins she didnt take our order for over 40 mins and then dinner took like an hour to come out the wait was horrible I asked another waiter to have the manager come see us as we hadnt seen our waitress for awhile but our waitress made it back before the manager did and she told me because of the terrible wait she was comping our desserts which was nice and as she was telling us this the manager walked up so we got it resolved quickly if not for the wait I would've rated this meal a 10 out of 10 but because of my wait I rated it more like a 6 to a 7!! 2 hours for dinner seemed way to long heck at blue bayou we were in and out in less than an hour with meal and dessert but food was not as good there... I'm glad I did BB because now I can say I have eaten there but would I go back..... No I wouldn't I would make the effort to go back to Cafe Orleans though even with our wait it was a great meal!!!!!! I'll post some food porn on Cafe Orleans a little later I don't have them uploaded yet!!! That was pretty much the only meal I remembered to take pics I tried at BB but they didnt turn out because of the low lite and I did'nt want to use flash... we had the famous corndog but the kids were too hungry to wait for me to take pics we also had the Turkey Leg and again noone wanted to wait for me to take pics, the rest of our meals we ate outside the park!!
All in all was a great trip but way to many bodies to contend with... I'll stick to Spring from now on although crowded it much less crowded than summer time!!!

I have a difficult time believing that the chocolate portion of the trio cannot continue to be offered. How hard can it be, to do so? I love chocolate,I like vanilla too, but it is not my favorite dessert flavor. I won't be ordering this dessert again, until the chocolate returns.
The mint doubloons are available for sale, they come packaged in a pretty gold box, with a BB seal on it. The cost is $4.99 for each box.

Well, to each his own. I love the creme brulee and thought the amount was perfect. I shared the dessert, too. I would think it would be very hard to eat 2 creme brulees (I didn't find them small) and 3-4 shortbread cookies by myself unless that was all I was eating, but then I'm not one for huge portions. I could never order the cookie boat because to me it's simply quantity, not quality. IMO the quality of the creme brulee is excellent. I love that they use real vanilla bean and it's one of the few place I've had it where they don't burn the topping. We liked it so much we went back the next night as walk-ups to have it again!
