Anyone been to MNSSHP in early Oct?

Have you been to MNSSHP in early Oct? WE are hoping to go Oct 6-10 ish. My kids would like to paint their faces as part of their costumes but I am thinking it may be too hot, it would run or smudge with sweat etc(yuck, I know). Is it still super hot then? I thought I would just try to have a back up plan in case but I don't want the kids to have their hearts set on a certain costume and then not be able to do it. Any ideas?

We went on the 8th 2 years ago and the 11th last year. Last year it rained unfortunately and 2 years ago it was hot but not to hot that paint would run. Just watch out for splash mountain and any water areas.

I went last October 3rd (a Sunday?) and didn't find it very hot but it was very humid since it had finished raining around 6PM. I found it stuffy at certain points in the evening (ie. lining up for candy or lining up for the parade) because there were a lot of people that night. Of course this weather was shortly after the hurricanes hit so I'm not sure if it's typical October weather.

As for the makeup, I can't really comment because I don't have kids but I see how it could be problematic. Bring some makeup remover, tissues and cotton balls just in case they feel hot and want to take it off later on in the evening. Just make sure you get a bunch of pictures first
