DH and I have ADRs at Flying Fish for our grown ups evening (yay!) Just wondered if anyone has been here recently, and if you have any recommendations of what would be yummy.

Also, when I made our reservations, I understood that this was a signature restaurant and that we would be using 2TS credits each. However, when I printed off my confirmation, it showed that we would be charged 1TS credit. Which is correct?

I was there last month. It was a Signature Location and was 2 TS per person. If you are a steak lover, I personally don't think you'll find a better steak on property. I was really surprised to find they have one of the best steaks in Central Florida (forget which publication did the survey). I admit, although it was very good, I was disappointed with the signature potato wrapped snapper. The potato's were just on the edge of being burnt, and that didn't enhance the presentation or taste. It was still very good. Overall it was a fantastic dining experience, and they have a cocktail menu that is completely different then the canned menu across property.

Thanks for the clarification, must be a mistake in the info that comes with the confirmations.....

DH is definitely loves a really good steak, but I'm more interested in the seafood. I was actually considering the Snapper, I have read some good reviews of it on this board.

Do the Signature restaurants include an appetizer, or would be have to pay OOP for those?

We were there on Sept. 28th, and I would say it was the best meal we ate all week. If you are on the basic dining plan you will not get an appetizer. If you are on the deluxe plan you do get an appetizer. It is always tied to the level of plan you are on, not the level of restaurant (although there are a few execeptions such as the "taste of France" meal at Le Chefs or whatever the meal is called). At any rate, here you will not get an appetizer on the basic dining plan.

My DD had the snapper, and it was awesome. My DH and I had the scallops, and we both thought they were fantastic.

If you are on the basic dining plan (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per night) appetizers are not included. If you are on the deluxe dining plan (3 meal credits, 2 snacks per night) then they are included.

The previous poster is correct, whether you will get appetizers included depends on the level of dining plan you have, not the level of the restaurant.

Dh and I ate there in August....OMG, it was the best meal we have had, to date, in WDW. And no, we don't just eat at Cosmic Rays!!!! Dh had the scallops and risotto...said it was incredible. I had the filet, and it was the best piece of beef I've had in a loooong time. The creme brulee for dessert was, well, words can't describe it, it was that good.
I am eating there again in Dec...can not wait.

We LOVE FF! We were there in June and Oct and the food was out of this world! DH always gets the same thing, the NY Strip and he said it is the best he has every had at WDW. I had the snapper (awesome), the scallops (fantastic) and 2 weeks ago I had the shrimp pasta dish with shellfish butter and it was wonderful!

Click on my Oct link for a new menu and tons of pics!

We ate there two weeks ago, and it was the best meal that we had all week! My husband had the snapper, and it was absolutely fabulous. I had the seared ahi tuna which was also terrific. I love this restaurant....it's well worth two TS credits, in my opinion.

I'm really excited to hear that so many people enjoyed their meals at this restaurant. Now I'll never be able to decide what to have....

Goofy4tink, it sounds like we may be there at the same time!

This is our favorite of Disney's restauarants on the dining plan and the only negative thing is having to decide what to eat. I think that both the scallops and the tuna are excellent. My husband enjoys the snapper and the wine flights.

I always get the cheese plate for dessert.

I was inspired by this thread to finally start to edit my photos from the last trip. Here are some photos from Flying fish with an accompanying menu description from All Ears.

I guess DH and I are the exception to the rule. We tried FF last year, loved the service and appies, but not impressed with the potato wrapped snapper.
We tried FF again 2 weeks ago and again loved the appies and service but not the entrees. DH had the NY Strip which he said would have been fantastic except for the sauce foyot they smothered it in. It had almost a cinnamon or nutmeg after taste to it. I had the scallops and they were undercooked and very, very mushy. I know I should have said something to our server but just wrote it off, that maybe FF was just not for us.
PS... DH had a fabulous steak at Citricos, which he said was easily the best he ever had on WDW property, and we have been to all the signatures. And I had the most wonderful scallops at Fulton's.
I am sure you will love FF, the crab cake appie is yummy and they also have a great wine list...plus our server (Russ) was very helpful in helping with our wine choice.

We've been to FF too many times to count (around 10), so we've covered most of the menu, but for the steak. Our "go to" appetizers are the mussels and calamari. We also like the crab cake and tuna tartare. Main courses--you can't go wrong with the scallops, salmon or yellowfin tuna. I agree with the PP about the snapper. It's rather blah. They usually have a special or two in addition to the regular menu, and the specials have always been excellent. Last time it was a Kurobuta pork chop, which was amazing.

We were there last Monday (10/12) and had a great dinner! Dh had the Calamari for his App and the chef's special for his entree, it was a Mahi Mahi thing... can not remember the details but he liked it. I had the crab cake app and steak entree. I love the potato's that come with the steak. We do not care for their desserts, we have been many times and have learned to just not order any here... but we are not big dessert people so don't let that bother you.

We ate there in May... very yummy!!!

My hubby had the snapper and it was delicious and I had their special fiash (I believe it was a tilipaia dish). I had their tomatoe and mozz salad for app and DH had calamari... It was one of our favorite meals!
