Anyone Been To Chef Mickey's lately?

We will be there in three weeks, and I have heard mixed reports of it being real bad due to construction and others saying it was great. SOOOO I'm confused!

Just didn't know if I need to make different plans.

Was there last week. It was fine, but I did feel it wasn't as "fun" as the last time we were there. I didn't know about the construction until we walked in, and that thru me off.

As far as the "fun" factor, who knows, maybe it was an off morning (we had bfast at 9:30 on our way home), but the last time they did a napkin waving conga line type thing and really got the kids excited, but this time they barely waved napkins.

It was just okay!

The food has not been good in years and the service is even worse.
There are much better places for breakfast and definately better places to see the characters.

We were there a week ago today for b'fast and it didn't 'feel' any different than earlier this year. The only noticable difference was the enterance- the food, characters, and service were all the same. Maybe it was because we had an early (7:20) ADR and there wasn't construction going on...

I took my nephew there for dinner last month. We had a great time. There was quite a bit of construction on that floor and I remember thinking that I would be quite ticked if I were staying at CR, but once inside CM you don't notice the constrution.

My nephew enjoyed it so much he wanted to go back for dinner another night. Of course there was no room at the inn by that point. He could not get why I had to reserve the place so far in advance!!

The construction you are talking about is just for CR not Chef Mickey's, right?

We ate there twice the last week of August. I didn't notice too much noise from the construction. I noticed it walking by the area but not once we were at our table (we sat back by the windows behind the food). We ate there for both dinner and breakfast. They did the napkin waving both times. We had wonderful service. Can't compare it to a previous visit since this was our first visit to CM.

What? I never have seen a "napkin waving conga line type thing" and we have been to CM probably 25+ times. There has always been the celebration and napkin waving (my kids just love this) but we have never seen a conga line type of thing. Are you sure you were at Chef Mickeys?

Hopefully you will have a more magical time next time you go.

We were there for the 1st time ever for dinner around the 1st of August. It was ok.. Food was about on-par with a Golden Corral.. I think Character interaction was ok but honestly my family doesnt quite get the "character thing," so I'm not sure. All characters came by our table for a photo op. Kids did enjoy and wanted to go back.. We tried the next morning for breakfast but couldnt manage a walk-up... I was most bummed about having to pay the dinner price for my 10 yr old who ATE 1 chicken nugget and that's all.. BUt, I know he's not a good eater so I wasnt that surprised- just was a VERY expensive chicken nugget.

Did you notice any small birds flying around when you were there. When we were there last year, there were several small birds flying around the ceiling. I kept thinking about what if one of them pooped on the food. It was very unsettling.
