I know its not Disney but have to go regularly to theme parks! We are off to Camelot soon to stay two nights in the hotel which includes the park tickets. Has anyone else done this?

Susan

Susan,

I live about 2 miles away, i last went on a free ticket a couple of seasons back, it isn't bad for the kids but I have never been impressed with it. The buildings are dirty and the staff are severely lacking in motivation. It is basically alot of money for an average day.
All the locals know why things are going down hill at the park but it will remain open until planning permission to build houses is given.

As for the hotel, i think it wont be too bad but it will be aimed at the business market. If you get gym access they have a couple of ok pools, jacuzzi, steam rooms etc

If anyone else is thinking of this, do yourself a favour and go to Gullivers World in Warrington, it is clean, it is better themed and better value.

I would second that recommendation for Gullivers in warrington. If your kids are 8 or under, they will love it....its surprisingly good for somewhere in the UK.

My DD is 11 and loves the Hulk and Mission Space and my friend's kids are 8 and 5. This trip is for the adults as well as it is for my friend's 35th birthday.

Did like Gulivers Land when we went last year in Milon Keynes but way too young for us now.

Any other suggestions for older ones for next year with a nice hotel next door? Have done the Alton Towers hotel four times now!

We live 1 mile away from Gullivers world in warrington and have never been. DD is 4 in 3 weeks and we have looking for somehwere to take her. She loved all the kids rides at disney so we might go here.( i know the rides won't be as good but she will like them) :Pinkbounc

Don't expect any thing great from camelot. It's dirty and the staff are most unhelpful.
Though kid's don't notice these things so they will have a great time.al the same it not value for money.

Was thinking of taking my dd's 7 to gullivers world. Is it a waste of time for children there age that love fast ride's.?

We live near Camelot but it's not that great that we go very often. You used to be able to pick up half price vouchers a few years ago but they seem to have dissapeared now. At half price it was a decent day out.

Thanks to everyone who replied. We have come back after a great weekend. Camelot was only a one day park but we spent our second day at Blackpool which we really enjoyed. Some really good rides.

The hotel at Camelot was really nice and the family suites were very spacious.

Need to find somewhere else in UK now for next year!!!

Susan

Despite living there, I completely overlooked suggesting Blackpool !
The Pleasure Beach really isnt "that" bad I suppose, the rides are pretty good, its just the dirtiness and the generaly drunk yobbish attendees that put me off.
