Anyone been during a convention?

Has anyone been to DLR during a large convention at the convention center? I am going Wed Dec 8 - Thurs Dec 9 however I found out a large pharmaceutical convention will be going on through Dec 8. The convention has the "entire facility" (20,000 people) booked so I am a bit nervous. The entire reason I booked this trip was because this was supposed to be a slow time.

Just curious if anyone has been during a large convention to see if it really increases crowds, especially during a time it is supposed to be slow. Thanks!

I am curious as well because I have heard that there is also a cheerleader convention over that time...I will have to follow this thread! We are going to be there for our DD first DLR/DCA and hojo visit!

Yeah, I hope the 20,000 at the convention don't all bring a spouse and kids with them, and send them to the park while they are convening!

Looks like the cheer convention is on 12/11/10 so hopefully that won't cause a problem :/

I've been during conventions in the spring (May during the CA dental association convention) it does get pretty busy in the evening because those at the convention are usually offered the Twilight tickets and so at about 6ish is when it would get pretty crowded. I was there is past week (Sun, Mon, Tues) and there were pageant girls there. It was crowded but more because of Thanksgiving.

I was there during a catholic school teachers convention this past March....i was only in the parks on the Saturday because my mom was at the convention! & it just felt like any typical Saturday really.

We are @ DLR/DCA over Dec. 7 - 14, so I only remembered that there was the cheerleader convention over our visit...I didn't remember exactly what date.
