Character meal at Liberty Tree Tavern Jan-Feb 2010 (Breakfast Menu added to 1st post)

There is definitely someone with an 8:15 on January 22, so if it's a fellow board member giving you an early shout out, because we're shooting for an 8-ish reservation on the 22 ourselves. :thumbsup2

I'm staying AKL CL 1/20 to 1/27. I've asked IPO to book me an 8-ish ADR at LTT for 1/22.

See you there!:thumbsup2

We may run into you at the resort too! We're not staying CL, but will be staying at the Villas (Jambo House) :)

Maybe we'll be on the same bus to MK on the 22nd. It will be just me & my DD. I took her older sister & brother for their 7th birthdays but they both stayed at Pop on their birthday trips.

Did you hear that the pool at Jambo House will be closed when we are there? We will be able to use the pool at Kidani.

That's me, yippee! Poly IPO landed it for me :)

Maybe we'll see ya there :goodvibes

When Crystal Palace is closed and Liberty Tree Tavern is open as a character meal, what characters will be there? Pooh and friends, or Mickey and the gang?

Also, do you think they'll keep separate lunch and dinner menus, or go to all family style again like it used to be?

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the same "no availability" answer on Tues. Called back later that day and the CM transferred me to Guest Services where I had no problem getting an 8:15am. We are paying OOP this trip since we are doing mainly breakfasts...asked the CM what the prices was going to be and she said $24-$36pp. OUCH! That high end can't be right can it? Anyone else know for sure?

I bet those prices are right. I heard 23.99 for breakfast so it must be a little more for lunch and then the max for dinner.

Here is what the concierge folks sent me about the breakfast:

The Liberty Tree will be serving breakfast during your stay and featuring Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale for characters though as usual they are subject to substitution. The menu Served Family-Style consists of
Starter Plate: Fruit Bowl, Croissant Monkey Bread, Biscuits, Orange Butter.
Meat Platter: Bacon, Sausage, Grilled Ham, Breakfast Potatoes. Scrambled Eggs and Peach French Toast Casserole with Maple Butter. Grits and Oatmeal available upon request.
Price: Adult: $22.36, Child (3-9): $12.77

[that would be 20.99 and 11.99 before tax]

This was posted a while back about the characters. Things could have changed, but when I made my ADR for here last Wednesday (the 21st) this matches what I was told.

What on earth is Croissant Monkey Bread?

Sorry, no Pooh. According to everything we've heard from Disney (including what Tricia posted) it'll be the characters that were always at Liberty Tree - Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

LOL, I don't know either. If I were told to go make "Croissant Monkey Bread", I'd use a Croissant dough and roll it into balls. Put three balls into a muffin tin, and then cover the 'muffins' with the brown sugar 'goop' that you'd put over a traditional monkey bread.

I would assume that it'd be much flakier than traditional monkey bread.

That actually sounds good. I haven't heard of "monkey bread" though, sounds more like sticky buns but stuck together.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the menu -

but I was remembering how Paula Deen made monkey bread in a bundt pan - lots of brown sugar - butter (of course!) and pecans! she just used biscuit dough, so I thought must be made with croissant dough!!

monkey bread is really great..like the pp's said, probably cinnamon and sugar, butter, maybe nuts...really yummy i hope!

i also called in today to make reservations over the phone and had no trouble at all---glad they finally have the system updated for phone reservations...now, if they can get the online reservation system updated.

Okay, I just called(but didn't finish this post till after 11, lol) and talked to a dining CM and she looked up the info and confirmed that the characters are Chip 'n Dale, Minnie Mouse and Pluto!! Yay, I'm so happy! Love Minnie and Pluto, and Chip 'n Dale is awesome cause they are hard to find at any character meals anymore if even anywhere, and seem to be hard to find in general!

So... is 8:15 the earliest anyone has gotten?

I was wondering if I should try for 8:05 or even earlier if possible..
