We are leaving in three days for the Grosvenor and just wondering if anyone has been very recently???? Thanks Linda

My 70yo Mom and I went this past Xmas. We got an unusually low rate $39.00 per night. Its very near, I'm talking 5 minute walk to Downtown Disney! Great location and the staff was very nice. The room was bigger than the moderates in Disney (or so I'm told) it had a refrigerator and coffe maker, no extra charge, hair dryer and iron and ironing board. I had a Tower Room and I was also told these were better. We had no problem with the buses, you just have to keep track of the time. The room was fine, but the bathroom looked a little worn, but again for the rate I was paying I could not complain. Everything worked and was very clean. It was a little too cold for swimming but the pool looked clean and had deep parts (8 ft) which surprised me because they all seem to be so shallow. All in all we had a wonderful time and you should also. The Restaurant was very nice and the breakfast buffet looked very appetizing. We never used it because my mother is diabetic and has special needs but everyone else seem to be enjoying it. It was something like $13 per adult and $10 per child, if I remember correctly. We never had dinner there so I can't tell you about that. I do have pictures, but I don't know how to post them, Sorry! But they do have a website, I booked thru DreamsRes (the travel agent for this site) and they have the website posted. Go into DreamRes and check it out. Hope this helps.

msr709,
Been to the Grosvenor twice once in 1990 and aslo last June for my honeymoon.
Both times have been great especially having a tower room you get a wonderful view either to DD or up towards Seaworld. The breakfast was lovely great selection and not too busy. The buses are good although busy when the parks close. Crossroads is a nice just out of Disney place to eat and grocery shop. On the eating side Crossroads has Red Lobster, TGI Fridays, Pizzeria Uno plus McDonalds and Taco Bell to name a few. The grocery store Goodings has a fair selection but a tad on the expensive side. Other than that backat the Grosvenor the rooms are spacious and have free fridge and coffee maker. The rooms also have a VCR tapes can be rented from the lobby area. The pools were nice and warm last year and the jacuzzi (hot tub) was very hot!!
Have a great stay.
