Who else is planning to be at HHI on Thanksgiving and might be interested in a DIS get-together? Due to various changes, disneyaholic won't be able to have the get-together at the Beach house on Wednesday nite, which we enjoyed but unfortunately, it didn't seem well-attended in recent years. So is anyone up for a resturant get-together sometime that week? You don't have to be staying at Disney to join us-heck, if you live close enough to come, that's OK too, we'd love to have you come along. Someone suggested Grumpy Grouper Grill, which I confess to not having been too, but from what I hear it's a casual, seafood place. Or maybe someplace close to the resort? Or pizza at Guisseppi's? Or even a breakfast or lunch at Signe's? If you're interested, please PM me.
As an aside, someone has been so nice as to give me a pass to enter Sea Pines that week-DH and I go birding at Sea Pines Forest Preserve almost daily, and that entrance fee can get pretty expensive. Can anyone help?

We'll be at HHI for Thanksgiving. The last time we were there was 3 years ago and we went to a dis meet at the Beach House. It was a lot of fun. I'm sorry to hear they haven't been well attended. We could even meet for breakfast/coffee at the snack bar by the gift shop. I'll send you a pm.

We'll be there too but it's tough for me to commit to anything with 3 little ones in tow. I really want to get a look at the activities schedule first.

Do you think that is done yet? Maybe I'll give them a call today and find out.

Please post to this thread or PM me what everyone decides to do. I'd like to try and make it to meet all you wonderful people.

Hello Hilton Head Lovers!!!

We'll be around this year, yippee! I think the last Thanksgiving meet we were at was 3 years ago too, it was so much fun. This year we'll be in HH Wed-Sat and wouldn't mind meeting up if something gets decided. Everyone's favorite DISboard HH CM is off on Wednesday (or so a little bird told me). Maybe that day/afternoon/evening would work out? Haven't heard of Grumpy Grouper but willing to give it a try. Or a breakfast at Signe's is a great idea too.

Happy bird watching, Simba's Mom. Maybe you could give us all a quick lesson. I call everything an egret (as in, "What's that bird, mommy?" "An egret, my child." Pretty soon they're going to figure me out!).

Hey, I just went to a seminar called "How to misidentify birds like an expert." As long as you say it with authority, you'll be perfect!

It just occurred to me that we never got anything from the resort offering us a Thanksgiving dinner. Did anyone else? I was hoping that the reason was that they know (after 2 previous years there) that we never take it, but I'm hoping they didn't discontinue it for those who want it.

Not staying on-site, so don't know; we ordered from Kenny B's. Looking at your countdown, does Signe's have a Thanksgiving dinner? What is it like? Didn't even know they were open that day.

A bird chirping up my tree :)

Won't be there, but hope all works out well. Good luck friend. :thumbsup2

Simba's Mom,

We willl be arriving on Friday and staying until Tuesday. We have a studio for 2 nights and a 1 BR for 2 nights. I would love a DIS get-together at HH.

We got the info. It was over a week ago -- can't remember the exact date.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm really interested in the Pinckney tour and Goofy Bingo. Also, they have had a 1 hour resort tour specifically for bird-watching that I enjoy. Now all I have to do is hope that some of the resort activities are on days that DH will be golfing. That's usually the way we work it-he goes golfing and I do the resort activities. One year was really nice-I was the only one on that 3 hour island tour, so it was like having my own private tour guide.

Signe's has "The Love Bird", a dinner for two. However, they told me when I ordered it that lots of families order multiple "Love Birds" to feed their entire family. We love it, but we're a little biased-we love anything from Signe's. You get turkey (granted, not a whole turkey, just slices), gravy, an especially delicious cranberry compote, stuffing, soup, green beans, and 4 pieces of pie-your choice of about 14 flavors. And the flavors can be 4 different kinds of pie, or 3 of one kind, 1 of another, etc. It's worth it to us just for the pies! Oh, and I almost forgot-also 6 rolls and baked potatoes. It's also explained on their website.
