Anyone at WDW now? I was looking on the weather site, and it looks like there are thunder storms predicted every day for the next week. I know the chance is only in the 20-30% range. IF you are down there now, have you had a lot of wet weather, or is it spotty showers?

I'm not down there right now -- I wish -- but that weather forcast you describe will be the forcast from now until the end of September. Florida + Summer = Thunderstorm. They come in quickly, last a little while, then blow over just as quick. Pack some ponchos in bag you carry in the parks and carry on with the fun.

We just got back yesterday, we had a pretty heavy storm come through on Sunday afternoon. We planned accordingly, did parks in morning, went back and swam, relaxed in the room while the storm went through. Then headed to MGM for dinner and Fantasmic.

I was at TL today and the weather was very pleasant and comfortable. Early in the morning however, the smoke and haze from the wildfires was everywhere, but around 11am a 15-20 mph wind started and cleared everything up very quickly. By the weekend the temps are to be back up approaching the 90s but unfortunately the wild fires are not going to be contained so you will probably have to deal with that also. I was at MK last week on a hot day, and it did a number on me, I had to go from one AC attraction to another to cope with the heat.

There was a crazy storm in the afternoon Sunday that lasted about 45 minutes from 4:15-5 or so. Then it cleared up and the humidity was gone. Monday and Tuesday were windy and cooler - in the 70's and 80's and even today was very nice. It is supposed to be hotter this weekend. This morning we could smell smoke around, but I am allergic to smoke and get pretty nasty asthma and had no need for albuterol from it.

I've seen the chances for thunderstorms - we were supposed to get some this afternoon - and other than Sunday, nothing.

Crowds are pretty light from what we've noticed too. :thumbsup2

Does Celebration count?
Super weather unless you live here....we really need rain but none is predicted.

We've been here at this same time the past 4 years. This year it's been a bit cooler than previous years and lower humidity. We arrived on Sunday. It was very warm when we arrived but after the afternoon storm moved through, it really cooled off. Monday night was pretty cool, too. DH was wishing he had brought a light jacket with him.

The forecast for today was for scattered showers this afternoon, which never happened. It was a beautiful day. But tonight, just as Wishes finished, the rain started -- first a few drops and then a downpour! Fortunately we had a couple of those 99-cent ponchos with us to keep us dry as we headed for the boat back to VWL. The rain lasted only 20 minutes or so. By the time we got on the boat, it had stopped.

So, come prepared for anything -- hot and humid, cool and breezy, and the occasional shower.

we are here right now and have had 2 showers this week. as soon as fantasmic was over tonite the rain started about 20 min nothinmg a poncho couldnt handle other thanmn that weather has been great and crowd levels awesome.

I'm here too. And will be next week as well. (Maybe I'll run into you at OKW when I visit or DTD.)

Anyway weather has been very pleasant with a touch of Florida unpredictable. The storm Sunday was a nasty one. Lightning, thunder and downpour. We took refuge inside the Virgin Music store in DTD. They shut down the ferries for an hour or so, but they were back running by the time we left for the day.

Monday got chilly. Low 70's during the day and 50's at night. I was so bummed with the cold that night I opted to leave MK right after Spectromagic.

Tuesday and today it's gotten progressively warmer and pleasant at night. Started today a bit breezy and smokey, but was so nice by the afternoon we opted to just stroll World Showcase instead of go on air conditioned rides. The fireworks were beautiful as well, but as soon as they ended the skies opened up. (Apparently Disney has a contract with Mother Nature on the timing of rain.) We took refuge in Mouse Gears and just waited for the weather and crowd to clear.

Tomorrow's supposed to warmer. Local weatherman says there's a chance of rain but nearly enough to help with the dryness. But it looks like T.S. Andrea is wreaking havoc with those on beach vacations. Someone drowned off New Smyrna Beach today. Nasty rip tides. Andrea isn't supposed to clear the area until the weekend.

Early last week it was VERY hot (90s), which is 12 degrees hotter than normal. However, we go the first week in May every year and it is ALWAYS in the 90s...so I think that week is just always above normal.

As others said, once the Sunday storm came through, things cooled off considerably for Monday and Tuesday. We left then...wish we had that weather for park touring...MUCH more pleasant! The breeze was perfect and the temps were 78-82.

We had 1 short storm. The Sunday one was a HARD rain but lasted less than an hour. We, too, planned accordingly and were leaving the parks as the first few drops fell and were tucked safely into our villa when it really came down! :goodvibes
