Anyone at DL today? How are the crowds?

We fly out tomorrow. I am with a bigger group. We currently have 8:10 reservations for breakfast with Minnie on Thursday. I am leaning towards cancelling, but my younger sister thinks she wants to go. With the park not opening until 9, I'm expecting it to be crowded by the time we finish breakfast - and I hate being behind the crowds. I'll have 3 thrill seeking kids and a 2 year old on her first trip.

Not at the parks, sadly. How many days are you going? And do you have park hoppers? Depending on how long you take to eat with Minnie and see the characters (usually takes us an hour, but my husband is a big eater at all you can eat places), you could get out within a few minutes of regular park opening. The MM people are often still in Fantasyland and Tomorowland. That leaves the rest of the park pretty empty. Also, if you have park hoppers, you can hop over to DCA, which is likely to be less crowded that morning.

I'm not at the parks but I've found the crowd estimator at OC Register to be fairly accurate.

Have fun!

Oh a crowd estimator I have not heard of. Can you share a link to it please?

Thanks

You should be able to be done and out of the restaurant by 9, unless you are really slow eaters. You can get seated right at 8, even though your reservation is for 8:10. If you are one of the first ones there, the characters come by quick, and there is no line at all at the buffet. We usually get at least a couple plates each and are out in less than an hour. You pay before you eat, so you don't have to wait for your server to take care of that at the end of the meal.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied. We had a great time. It wasn't that crowded, which made it much more manageable to deal with the heat. Wow - hot and humid. We had a great time and all ages were happy!
