I'm headed to WDW tomorrow (yippee ki yi yay!!!) and was hoping someone could give me ACTUAL weather. My last trip we were washed out with afternoon crazy thunderstorms. We usually go in October and have never had rain issues, but still I'm nervous on being prepared.
Thanks!

It's hot and humid (88, feels like 96) with no rain expected today or tomorrow. Showers expected for the weekend, but typical central Florida hit or miss showers, not necessarily a washout. It is still pretty much summer here, so don't expect any cool downs or anything like fall weather, unless you are here until Thanksgiving.

Normally in October, cold fronts start making their way into Florida to break the summer heat. Even the long term forecasts (5-10 days out) don't show any fronts coming into central Florida, so it is going to remain hot and humid, not quite July like, but still near 90 every day. Right now (Tuesday) we are under drier air and no rain is expected for the next 2-3 days. The rain chances for the weekend are higher, but still at only 40/50% and highly unlikely either day will be a rain out. Come on down and enjoy extended summer, it is what we like about here.
OWD

Heat indexes have hit 100 degrees 3 days in a row, it's pretty bad, no rain in sight until the weekend

Inside Epcot right now,its plenty hot, like middle of summer hot,no real chance of rain.I would take a bigger chance of rain for some more cloud coverage with lower temperatures. We should have highs in the mid 80s right now instead of 90-92 so we're above average for this time of year.

Oh wow thank you so much for the VERY detailed report! I guess the only long sleeves I'm going to need will be in the resorts when I'm cold INSIDE, lol!
I'm so excited. I can't wait to be hot and sweaty!

We are going this weekend and hoping the rain isn't too bad... Some sites have rain chances of 90% for Saturday and Sunday, hope its the passing shower type

Are the nights not cold at all? Like, no need to bring a sweater/hoodie for when the sun sets? We will be staying at the parks almost full day so I want to see if hoodies are needed? (I am heading there next Wednesday.)

About a week or so ago there was a pretty moderately cool day and I thought it was a sign the temps were starting to come down, but no not yet,the cool fronts are probably going to start making their way down here soon, but not yet.The lows are in the low to mid 70s but I haven't felt the need to wear a hoodie or any kind of sweater even at night. When the cool fronts come through maybe close to the end of the month those lows might go down into the 60s and that's when something warmer at night may be needed.

Right now the nights have not been cool at all it is currently 78 here at midnight. However we have been later in October previously and had a night here or there that was cooler and breezy and did need a light sweatshirt/jacket

We had crazy rain/thunderstorms this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday nights were a bit of a mess but the past two days have been fine (Monday there was a quick sun shower). Today was the first day since we arrived (on Saturday) that the humidity wasn't unbearable. My camera kept fogging up the past few days and was unusable Monday morning on the safari at AK.

The rain is unusual for this time of year. October is typically one of the drier months so it is quite odd.

Actually I would consider October a transitional month, rain during the first half of the month is not that uncommon.Around Oct 15-20 is when the weather starts changing and the fronts might start reaching us and bringing drier, cooler weather.I would consider May the other transitional month with the first half of the month dry and later in the month you start seeing higher chances of rain.

Unfortunately for those of us going next week, it looks like that transition won't happen until after the 20th! Oh well, we can't really complain, at least we missed the hurricane. I was hoping to not need the ponchos, but they are packed.

The weather has been very nice here in PA so I am a bit sad to miss it.

We arrive on the 19th for a week - obviously hoping for no rain and cooler temps, but it is what it is!

October is the 5th driest of 7th wettest month for Florida, so it falls pretty much right down the middle. The shorter days begin to lessen the ability of a sea breeze to form.

We returned yesterday.
Very hot is the name of the game right now. Humidity is up there too.
It rained everyday for us, arrival day on the 5th was rainy throughout, the rest were afternoon storms.

We were at OKW and a pretty good storm hit Sunday evening for an hour +. The kids were at AK and it drizzled a bit, nothing major. With storms, it's luck of the draw.
