Anyone at BC during Hurricane Charley?

If you were at this resort during the hurricane (not BCV), please post. Did you receive any safety instructions, or a visit from a CM to insure you knew what to do if the storm was really bad? How about flashlights? Thanks!

I was not at the BC, but if you are looking to see if there were inconsistencies in the way the hurricane was handled (looks like you stayed in BCV), I can tell you that I was disappointed in the way the CR mgmt handled things (we were in the tower). The people I have talked to or posted that stayed in the CR wings seemed to be much better informed than most of the people I talked to who stayed in the tower (like us) and were offered flashlights, meeeting with a cm to discuss emergency preparedness etc. We were kept informed until about 3pm and then nothing until after the hurricane had passed (like 11:30 pm)

It certainly didn't ruin our trip or anything, but it was frustrating. There were also issues earlier in the week with a water main break. I just felt that they didn't handle emergencies very well. The general staff was great though.

We were at AKL during the storm and were not at all impressed with how this was handled. After the storm we spoke with other resort guests who had been kept updated on the storm, park openings and closings, and their facilities in general. We didn't get a thing until 8:00 when there was a note under the door stating to stay in room, away from window, etc. About ten minutes later there was a voicemail explaining that restauraunts would be closed and they were handing out boxed meals.

Althought we were not at the BC or the AKL we were at the CSR. We were kept well informed of what was going on around us. We recieved alot of voice messages on our room phone updating us about the hurricane. DH and I were very impressed with how the CSR kept us informed.

We didn't even get a note about staying away from the windows. Now, we did know that much at least, but we don't live in an area where there are any hurricanes or tornadoes, so I was trying to remember what I had learned as a kid in Texas. Sounds like this was handled unevenly at all the resorts, and I find that odd. Well, thank goodness it wasn't an issue.
