We arrive to Aulani in 1 week!

Was wondering what the schedule is this week, since I'm coming there soon!

When is Starlit Hui?

Movies on lawn?

DVC Mingles? We can't make monday morning breakfast one :(

Any lei making?

Trying to plan off-premises excursions and meals :)

Anything else I should know before I arrive?

Thank you!

I am here...

Starlit Hui was last night (Sun).
Tonight (Mon) is 'Ohana family movie night
The only lei making I have found is a teen activity tonight (mon)
Member mingle was this morning (mon)
Sundown Mingle is Fri @ 6:00pm

I wanted to add that we only have daily 'Iwas from Sat, Sun and Mon ... my DD wants to try lei making so we are on the lookout! :)

Thank you. Will you be there the rest of the week? Can you let me know if there are any other starlit hui's, movies and dvc mingles at night or afternoon. Thanks! There isn't a weekly schedule just the daily ones?

Just got back....
The day we arrived on Tuesday, Starlit Hui was cancelled. We saw on IWA for Friday and as previous poster mentioned, it was also scheduled on Sunday.

Did not do the mingle, movies or lei making, sorry...

We did a lot of excursion on our own and ate local restaurants.

If you are DVC member bring your membership card for discounts. Unlike other DCL, WDW, or DL, your room key does not denote you are DVC member to receive discounts.

There is a weekly schedule available on Saturday evening.

What were your favorite excursions and local restaurants?

What time is the evening Starlit Hui? The Sunday we are there we're planning a long day at Pearl Harbor then going into Waikiki….we may be late getting back…I hope it's offered on another nite too.

Now through August the Starlit Hui show is being held on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. See this article from the Disney Parks Blog.

Starlit Hui begins at 7:30. When I was there the week of 7/13, they showed it Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Thank you!

What were your favorite excursions and local restaurants?

A little background: family consist of DW and 2 DS (college ages) and myself (obsessive trip planner and researcher).

The favorite family excursion was the hike up Diamond Head and to Manoa Falls. Go early in the morning if you decide to go to Diamond Head because parking gets filled out by 7 AM and you have to park down the hill.

The other favorite was the drive along north shore eating Dole Whip at Dole Plantation, fresh fruits, shrimp trucks and stopping at local craft stores. If possible drive to north shore on Mon - Thursday. We were there on Wed and again on Friday. Friday has significantly more traffic.

We also did a self walking tour of historic sites in Honolulu, Aloha Swap meet and Pearl Harbor (USS Arizona and USS Missouri). Unfortunately USS Arizona was not allowing landings due to high winds. Hopefully you have booked your time to visit USS Arizona.

We also did The Polynesian Cultural Center. Read mixed reviews about it but decided to take a chance with a package that included the evening show and a Luau. The show (HA Breath of Life) was good but may not be suited for younger kids. We lucked out with a Somoan tour guide and provide really good insights.

As for food, we did local restaurants Highway Inn, Koa Pancake, Zippys, farmers market, food trucks plus Ama Ama. Let's not forget Leonard's, which drew responses (I see pink box) from cast member when we walked in. :rotfl: Also ate at Hula Grill so that we can say we were at Waikiki ( all two hours) :)

We just got back and toured the entire island multiple times. We spent about 4 hours in Waikiki and that included 2 hours out on a boat. We HATED it there and I am used to Boston and NYC traffic.

We absolutely loved the time we spent on the East coast. We drove over several times and went to Lanikai and Kailua beach. The sand is as soft as powder and the trees were close to the shore, so there was lots of shade if you wanted it. We also became obsessed with shaved ice from Ono's truck right across from Sandy Beach. It was SO much better than Matsumoto's. We went there 4 different times in the 2 weeks were were there. The best part was that hang gliders often took off from the hill behind the truck and we could watch them.

Snorkeling Hanauma Bay was incredible. It was beautiful and we got to spend at least 15 minutes following a sea turtle around, just my husband, daughters and I.

We hiked Diamond Head and Makapu'u Point Lighthouse. Two completely different views, but both beautiful.

We did a tour that took us to Pearl Harbor and highlights of Honolulu through Discount Hawaii for $20 a person. It was nice, especially since all the Pearl Harbor online tickets were gone when I tried to get them (about a day or 2 too late for 6 months out).

Dinner at Ola at Turtle Bay for our anniversary was delicious and eating on the beach was pretty nice.

The kids loved the Dole Plantation, especially the maze.
