As part of our test-and-adjust process for MyMagic+ and based on the success of the test occurring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a test of Disney FastPass+ service will begin at Magic Kingdom Park on Jan. 14.

This test will allow all Guests (including those not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel) visiting Magic Kingdom Park the ability to make three FastPass+ selections for the current day at that theme park using FastPass+ kiosks. Disney’s FASTPASS Service (using paper FASTPASS tickets) will not be available throughout the duration of this test at Magic Kingdom Park.

Guests who are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel: •

will have the ability to make up to three FastPass+ selections using one of the FastPass+ kiosks located throughout the theme park. •

will have the ability to modify these using FastPass+ kiosks. •

will redeem their FastPass+ selections by touching their theme park tickets to the touch points at the FastPass+ experiences they have chosen. •

will have access to use Disney FastPass+ service at only Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom Park. They can use Disney’s FASTPASS Service at Epcot and/or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel: •

will continue to engage in MyMagic+ as they have been and have the ability to make three FastPass+ selections in advance or day-of for one park per day. •

will continue to have the ability to select, modify or cancel their FastPass+ selections using My Disney Experience on their mobile devices, at FastPass+ kiosks or at service centers.

To view FastPass+ experiences and FastPass+ kiosk locations, click here. Guests will receive information about the test at the auto plaza. This information will also be available for Guests to pick up throughout the park. Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom will continue to have the opportunity to participate in the same FastPass+ test as well.

Okay, I know it's just a formatting issue but the &bull at the end of all the statements makes me giggle. Bull is right :rotfl:

Where did this come from by the way? Either way, I'm glad it's happening. Pull the band aid!!

LMAO! I can't see the formatting issue since I'm on the iPad.

It's direct from the Hub.

Anybody else think it's worth noting that the two parks with tiering will be the last two "tested" ?

I arrive on the 24th soooo if the test could only be 10 days long that'd be great!

I don't recall seeing this...are they still running minus paper fastpass at AK?

Thanks for sharing. And please don't fix it

We might even have to adopt it for all FP+ discussions.

That's got to be why they're doing MK next. Otherwise why not leave it for last, especially because they had small tests at Epcot since they started the "test" at AK.

I hate to burst your bubble, but none of these "tests" as far as I know have gone away. Sorry :(. By test, they mean roll out. You'll be using FP+ at MK and AK.

Paper fastpasses went away at AK as soon as the FP+ test started.

It's my understanding that they have done away with paper fastpasses at AK completly. Off-site guests who can't pre-schedule FP+ can use the machines to make "day of" FP+ reservations after they arrive at the park.

I feel sick about this! 3 FP+ is no way enough FP s for the MK. I hope it will change.

I feared this when I couldn't remember seeing anything about the test ending.

Ahh. My nightmares come to life. Maybe they can add this one to fantasmic and see how it plays out then :p

Noticed you're staying at AKL. Without separate physical tickets (like an AP for example) you won't be pulling FP- anywhere if you check in after 1/14 (the date AKL stops giving KTTW cards), even if they are still around at Epcot and DHS.

Sorry to continue your nightmare :upsidedow

Luckily I do have AP so I may get to ride soarin more than once in the trip with my one FP+!

AAAARGGHHH! That's our arrival day, frickinfrackinfudgesicles. I was really hoping we'd avoid the MK inclusion.

Thankfully, it seems to still be lower crowds. I'm just going to get everyone moving in the morning, even though I promised I wouldn't push rope drop.

My chiropractor just returned and they did not enjoy MBs. Lots of standing in line trying to get them fixed. The FP+ situation was a damper, too, but they were also there during high crowds.

"Bull" is certainly the optimum word in this discussion.

I'm really so disgusted by all of this I'm thinking about cancelling and just heading over to Universal. I wasn't going to head back there until Diagon Alley opened, but all of this and the hubbub surrounding the FP+ is pushing me farther and farther away from Disney.

For what it's worth, I did a split stay in November at 3 different resorts and an AP and had zero problems with the MB. A couple hours after checking into YC it was still showing me as at CBR for stormalong bay access, but they gave me a wristband so I wouldn't have to deal with the issue everytime I went to the slide. It was fine the next day when I tried. Just a bummer that I will be limited to 3 FP+ now. Oh well

The fat lady is warming up her voice now....Lol.

Three of the four phases of MM+ that affect ticketing have taken place.

First was the "test" of magic bands at resorts. The test never ended, it's now permanent.

Second was/is the removal of KTTW cards at the onsite resorts. The "test" will never end, it will evolve into a roll out as well.

Third is the removal of FP- from the parks systematically. Yes you guessed it, this "test" will not end and just evolve into a permanent status.

Fourth, here comes the fat lady onstage, will be when Disney announces that they will begin selling additional FP+ reservations by tier for an additional fee. It's a common sense progression, keyed to make Disney more revenue by changing from an all you can eat buffet style of ticketing (FP-) to a new digital a la carte E ticket system (FP+) whereby you pay for how ever many you want over and above what you are given with the purchase of your park ticket.

Not rocket science here, just common business sense. Wait for it, and enjoy the opera. She has a beautiful voice...

This was posted before and (to me) no surprise. I have been planning (spreadsheet type) with this expectation since I first heard of FP+. Fortunately, we will be onsite. I really considered offsite until this came up. I guess Disney got their wish and I made my decision on lodging based on this.

I am grateful to hear that the MB are working better now. Some trip reports had me second guessing even including WDW in my Orlando vacation. I am still thinking about it. I plan to go to SeaWorld, US/IOA and Busch Gardens during the same two week trip. I am booked with a package for 8 nights at POP. A lot can happen between now and 45 days before my trip.

They need to do it already. Get rid of the old machines and get on with it. Than maybe the changes to the FP+ system that are supposed to happen actually will.
