Anyone Actually Rent From Alamo/National @ Dolphin?

Alamo and National are supposedly both on site at Dolphin, Alamo being a few $$ less on the car we want. Can one pickup and drop off on Dolphin property or is a trek to elsewhere necessary? How about National?

Yes, a couple of times. We've rented at MCO when we flew in and dropped off the car at the Dolphin the next day. We then later in the week, rented a car from the Dolphin to go to the Disney Speedway for the Richard Petty Driving Experience and returned it to MCO as we were flying out the next day. It's been 2 years so I do not know if they have changed anything but it was very convienent for us. Just hop the bus from our hotel to any park, transfer to the Swan/Dolphin bus and your there. If you go to MGM try taking the boat it's a very relaxing ride. When we rented it National was the only one there.

Just picked up a National car rental from Dolphin last week with return to MCO. We were staying at BWV so we just walked over to Dolphin to pick up the car.

No problems, no surpises. We were pre-assigned a vehicle and received a new Grand Prix with very low milage as our fullsize rental.

We have also returned cars to the WDW Car Care Center. Picked up the rental at airport and dropped off at Car Care Center. They had a complimentary shuttle to take us to our hotel (or anywhere we wanted to go on WDW property).

I understad the reverse is true -- you can call ahead and they will send a shuttle to pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the Car Care Center for your rental, but we've never done this.

MickeyMagic - where is the National desk located at the Dolphin?

This will work out great for us - we're staying at BWV and just realized that by the time several people join us through the week, we won't be able to fit all the people and luggage comfortably into the mini van for the 2nd part of the trip to Universal!! This way DH can walk over to the Dolphin, pick up a second car, pick up our friend at the airport, and we'll have plenty of room for the rest of our trip and we'll just return both cars to the airport on our way back to the frigid North! - with entertainment coupon I was able to get a standard for only $16.00 per day (double upgrade)!!
