Anyone a Mac user/own a new MacBook?

Hi guys,

I just bought my first Mac (a very pretty Macbook - and only £650 ) as a replacement for my dead Dell L400 , and while I have a *basic* idea how to use Macs, I'd really appreciate any top tips or problems I might encounter from going from being a PC user to a Mac user!

I know you can actually use 'Boot Camp' to load Windows onto the Macbook, or buy 'Parallels' which let you run windows and mac applications side by side...does anyone have any experience of this?

Really, any feedback would be appreciated!

DF and I both have MacBooks ~ Although I have been using it I can't honestly say I have had the time to fiddle with it. He is back tomorrow, so I will do my best to get some info from him and pm you.

We have an iBook and an iMac (latest incarnation), plus Dell laptops and PCs. I haven't actually got a clue what you're talking about, though! I've never found a need to load Windows onto the Mac - you just get used to using both. I think I switch between the two without thinking, kind of like driving or riding a bike. I prefer some things about the PC and others about the Mac. Hot corners are a great feature. I also like the Bookmarks bar (easy access to your Favorites) and the feature which allows you to have numerous web pages open within the same window. I use iTunes and iPhoto a lot, too. I find the Macs slower than the PCs.

We have an iMac and to be honest I have never experienced any real problems using it. It is excellent for music, photo's and video downloading we do all our holiday films to DVD on imovies. Having said that we could never get broadband for it as no isp provider seems to offer support for Mac so we use DH's laptop for internet instead.

Oh why would you subject a lovely little mac book to Windows No really I know what you mean we have a mac mini and an I book and there are some programs that just work on windows. We have only used Virtual PC as our macs have power pc processors. We have found it easy to use. Don't have any experience of boot camp but imagine it may be similar
