I am going in July and LOVE my flip flops. I just don't know how they will work in the parks. Has anybody wore them in the parks yet? If so did it work out ok? :cool1:

Always wear closed-toed foot gear in the parks, at least in my opinion. It's too crowded, too full of strollers, wheelchairs and people not playing attention for you not to get stepped on or rolled over at some point (People stomped on my feet three times in three days last weekend alone).

I am always very comfortable in Gore-Tex hiking shoes, which are waterproof but let moisture escape. They also have excellent ankle support, which, considering you are sometimes on your feet for 10 miles or more a day, is very helpful.

I did, they were ok. I also wore regular crocs, and my feet were on fire. I really don't think they offer enough support. I even got blisters.

My DH and I both wore CROCS flip flops almost every day on our trip a couple of weeks ago! They were great! We didn't have them the first day since they were packed away, and DH didn't wear them the last day for the same reason. He said next time he is wearing them every day! No foot/leg pain the whole trip, and our feet/legs never even felt tired.

One funny thing...the last morning we were there we were trying to get to Dumbo first thing, so of course walking fast. Poor DH was about to die without his Crocs! He had on Born leather flip flops (very nice and probably cost at least twice as much as the Crocs) and he could barely keep up with me - I'm 5' and he is 5'10.

I would definetly recommend them to anyone!

P.S. we also used Body Glide in between the toes to avoid any blisters, but I don't know if that was really necessary. You can get it at most sporting goods stores.

Thanks for the help. I am not worried about being stepped on. I am more worried about comfort. I don't want to wear tennis shoes because I get hot in them. I got some Lands End sandles but they don't feel as good as my Crocs Athens. :wizard:

My Dh & friend wore Croc flip-flops on our recent trip. They both loved them. Do make sure you put suntan lotion on the tops of your feet though! :sunny:

I was not brave enough to abandon my regular crocs when going to the park for several hours, but did wear my flip flops everywhere else (Downtown Disney, etc.) and they did fine. I think they would have been fine in the parks also. Sometimes I think they're even more soft and "sinky" than regular crocs. It's all I've been wearing this summer.

I hope they work for us!! I bought my DW 3 pairs of Caymans (of course one pair wouldn't do to match her outfits) and one pair of Scutes. I have a pair of Niles and a pair of Scutes. The Scutes just came today and I think already I like them best. They have a nice thick heel support.
