Anybody with inside "mardi gras" info yet??

Just wondering if any of the Universal "insiders" have any info on 2004 Mardi Gras.... going late Feb and can't wait!

What does UO do for Mardi Gras?

I think Mardi Gras goes into April. They have a big parade (same floats as New Orleans) in the Studios and they throw mardi gras beads and coins to the crowds. they also schedule special concerts held in the studios.

ok sorry, I forget that not everyone is obsessed with music. My question is who the bands will be.

and speaking of the bands, what is the best way to view these concerts? I hear there are tons of people about - standing in a hugh crowd doesn't really appeal to me but I'd like to hear the concert. Any suggestions? Is the stage set up near a restaurant (so we could snag an outside table....maybe....) Any other tips?

not near restaurants; they had "new orleans-style" (ha) food and drink stands set up nearby. i didn't find it too crowded when i saw Live or Hootie, but i am used to being in some vicious pits. you could stand to the back where it is sparse, but hey if you do that you might as well just go listen to a CD.

The stage is set up between Twister and Jimmy Neutron stages. Like DocRafiki said they have small vendor type tents set up on the left side of the stage with food and drinks there. It is also across the street from Monster's Cafe and they were open during MG.
