anybody watch "trading Spouses"

Who is Lisa? I thought the moms were Kathy and Jennifer.

Anyway, I couldn't stand Arthur or Rodney. I think they are terrible in their own way. Hopefully Kathy starts making her family do more around the house and Jennifer makes Rodney get and hold down a job.

Yes.

Kathy really needs to wake up. I liked her until the very end. I found her to be very condisending. I had to LOL when she complained about the TX dh needing help all the time. duh!! Her own dh tried to get a houseguest up early in the am to make HIS bed!

What is with a 16yo pushing his siblings out of the way & screaming "Mommy, Mommy" over and over...

As for the TX guy, I read that he is a certified Electrition. He is out of work at the moment (but then so are lots of people). I think Fox was trying to turn him into a characture.

Love the show...

Only saw one though, can't wait to see more. Totally awesome who different we all are.:hyper: :hyper2:

um...remember what Jennifer said about Drew (the 16yo) and the father not getting along because Drew wasn't as "manly" or something of the sort.

and he likes broadway
and he spent about alot of time doing his hair.

do I have to say it?

not a DANG thing wrong with choosing that lifestyle...I just think the father is disappointed in it and shows it a bit too much.

I thought Jennifer(it wasn't Lisa???) was great with him. i really liked her.

Absolutely. It was so obvious even though it wasn't mentioned outright. I think the father has a hard time accepting his son as he is and Drew acts out because of it. I was happy to see them together at the end. He obviously does love his son, he just doesn't know how to interact with him. After spending a week with him, I can't understand why Jennifer thought Drew would like to learn kickboxing. She should have bought father & son some theatre tickets.

ok - THANK YOU for not flaming me for what I said.
I know some people can be all "that's not PC to label like that!"

even my brother - who's gay - said his gay-dar was going off the whole time he was watching this. heheheh

and I think the "kickboxing" was just something not TOO physical, not TOO sports orientated that might be a good 'middle ground' for the father and son to meet on.

I actually got filled up at the end when Drew started to cry because he didn't want to take kickboxing lessons with his Dad. I think Jennifer should have given the Father and son money to go out to dinner and a show in NYC once a month for the next twelve months. She kept telling the Father he had to bond with his son within the next year, before he leaves for college and I thought that would of been something they could have enjoyed together. It seemed to me that at the wives meeting they both spoke the truth about the other husband and neither wanted to hear it, especially Kathy. Oh and I couldn't believe Rodney put a fly in her soup. I love this show.

I also thought Kathy was very condescending towards Jennifer's family. She said something like 'their family isn't going to come out looking good'! (And here I thought her family came off looking much worse beacuse they act like they have "made it"). And their friends were terrible to Jennifer, they acted like they were too good for her.

Ditto on giving Drew a better activity than kickboxing, I also was thinking a trip to NY for a broadway show would have been cool.

I liked the idea or classes. So my first thought was give them moey to do theater classes together. The father is still in his element with Kickboxing...

I thought give him a chance to get to know Drew doing something that Drew would really like.

I thought about posting about Trading Spouses but then thought (psst you are probably the ONLY one that watches it LOL!) So I'm relieved that I'm not alone!

I thought that the comment by Kathy that Jennifer "didn't know what a happy family was." was classic... esp after they plays several cuts of dad, drew and siblings going at it almost non stop. I think that Drew is a neat kid, but, the way he spoke to his parents was horrible. I'm surprised that as stern as dad is he lets him get away with it. I certainly hope that the family watched the episode to see how Jennifer saw them and how the rest of the country saw them and though I know these shows use clever editing to portray the mood that they want expressed... I'm sure that the tension between Drew and Dad wasn't embellished that much.

On the other side of the fence I think that Jennifer's family was much more respectful of each other and they did genuinly miss her. I was so happy to see the family welcoming her home so well. Especially after the last episode (the dad's switching) where the woman didn't even bother to walk her husband to the door! They also didn't seem to notice him coming home either.. how sad he missed them so much.

On the first show Drew was out of control.

Can anyone recap what happened or show a link for the recap.

::yes:: ITA.

DH and I watch this together and are so thankful that we have each other.

No need for us to "trade spouses" LOL!!! If I would have been either one of these women, I would have told each of these guys off!!! They need to start apperciating their wives more and stop treating them like they are their maids and mother. If DH told me that I had to comb his hair, that would have been it!! And Arthur, OM!!!! I was ROTFLMAO when Kathy kept telling him that she was so thankful that he is normal. If he is normal, then I am thankful my DH is weird!!! My DH doesn't treat me like Arthur does Kathy. But if she is comparing Arthur to Rodney, I just have to laugh!!! Both of those men need to get lives and grow up!!!!

All of these kids I feel sorry for!!! Arthur needs to accept Drew for who he is. No one can't tell me that he doesn't realize he spends more time with the other son then he does Drew. And what about the little girl, I think that little sweetie gets lost in all of this mess with Drew, Arthur, and the "perfect" son.

I have to say that Jennifer's kids were the most well behaved that I have seen on this show. I'm sure they fight sometime, but it was nice not to see siblings fight for once. I know I put up with that almost everyday with DS and DD. LOL!!!

I agree!! It seems like Jennifer and her family are very happy, they obviously don't care about money and all seem to get a long quite nicely!
I wish my family was that nice to each other! LOL
Kathy was a stuck up snob with bratty kids. Poor Drew, his Dad has a lot to learn.

I only saw the end. I thought the blondes husband was absolutely horrible about the way the brunette spent the money. She gave them money for a downpayment on a house, money for a vacation, and he's upset that he only got $1000 personal spending money? He said something to the effect of "she really stuck it to me"?
