Anybody tried Verizon's Mobile Magic

The Android market has RideHopper, an amusement park line-time app. There's a free Lite version. In addition to DL, you can use it for virtually any amusement park in the country. It relies on users to update the wait times, whereas Mobile Magic is linked directly into Disneyland's system. I've used it twice and it was fairly accurate, but both times were busy (spring break and Christmas), so the extra people in attendence probably kept the app's times more up to date.

Thanks for the info! :goodvibes I figured there would be a Droid app out there, just haven't looked for one yet (mostly because I assumed the Verizon app would work, but you know what happens when you assume! ;))

So does "available FP window" tell you:

1. That FPs are available (on an attraction)?
2. What the return windows are on all FP rides at that point in time?
Yes and yes! As you scroll through the attraction list, you'll get the wait time info AND the available FP return window. The FP info can be very helpful in deciding what FP to get next.

It looks something like this:

SPACE MOUNTAIN
Wait: 40 min. FP: 5:30-6:30pm

There are some screenshots on the DisneyParks blog here:

I used it over Easter Weekend. The only thing I was a little frustrated was that we are "park hoppers" and would want to know the wait times for Toy Story Mania while we were over in Toontown and it would only give me a "moderate" or "go now" for the wait times instead of 10 minutes or 45 minutes. But when I was inside DL it would usually give me specific minutes for DL rides. Did anyone else have something different? Was I doing something wrong? It was this way all 4 days we were there. We are returning in June and if I did something wrong I would like to correct it.
thank you!

Thanks 'Dillo. :thumbsup2

I agree that the FP window info will be helpful....might be the most valuable feature for the frequest DLR visitor. If Indy shows 9:30-10:30pm FP window it's time to nab one before they're gone. (or if they're all gone, it'll be good to know prior to schlepping across the park to try to nab them ;))

My first post

Which iphone apps would you recommend?

I don't have the answer to your question akoj......but WELCOME to the board!!! :hippie::dance3::yay::cool1::yay::cheer2:

:)

Another cool thing about Mobile Magic: I can sit here at home and kind of keep an eye out on approximately how busy the rides are at any given time. (See Now, Moderate etc.) It kind of gives me an idea of what it *may* be like in a couple of weeks when I'm there. This morning after 10:00 am all of the Fantasyland rides were saying "See Now" Even the Matterhorn. I'm hoping a couple of Friday mornings from now it will be similar.

Lets see....right now at 11:40 Matterhorn is "Moderate", all the other Fantasyland rides are still saying "See Now", even Peter Pan. Space Mountain "Moderate", same with Indy, & Splash. Haunted Mansion & Pirates are saying "See Now".

I don't know how accurate it is from home & I'm not sure how much time they consider moderate. But, hey, I'm having fun with it. :) I can't wait to try it out in the parks!

Does this app say when rides are down? I hate trekking back to Splash Mtn to pick up FPs and have the FP machines down because the ride is down for a few hours.

I tried the free trial of this app 2 weeks ago when I still had my Dare and thought it was ok. Unfortunately the app is not that great on an all touch screen phone when trying to scroll through list was my only negative. I however recently upgraded to a Droid so no can buy the app again as of now but then see there was that other app mentioned in here so will have to try it out next time I get to the parks hopefully end of next month/early june before my AP expires.

Same thing happened to me. I think it's just the app as it will only tell you times for that specific park. When I was in DTD before entering one of the parks it wouldn't tell me the times for either park and thought something was wrong with the app but then went in DCA and all of a sudden times appeared. But yeah that is a flaw and they should have it show both parks in case you want to make a quick 'hop' but I guess they figure most guests will only be at one park at a time before switching to the next.

Exactly....real time info (on rides & FP's) would help someone who enjoys "Informed Spontanaeity"......

,,,,to be even more "informed". :cool1:
