Anybody out there "NOT" using a digital camera.....???

Go with film! I can't stand digital. I think you get such a nicer quality with film, and just better in general. I just got the new Canon 20D 8.0 mp camera, and the results just don't match up. My 35 is the Canon Elan7, which is a wonderful camera my loving bf got for me last christmas. :goodvibes

The thing is, remember, if you decide to go with the 35 mm, to get the protective radiation bag (or whatever it is, lol) from a local camera store. It will protect your film from the intense xray machines in the airports and such. Id assume you're bringing film from home, cause its expensive at hte parks. I made the mistake of when I was younger, around 15/16 during a trip, not to protect my film. Well, got home and there were weird streaks all over the place, the film looked really distorted. Disappointed.

Now that im 19, and more educated, lol, (and a photo editor of my college's paper) I know better. Good luck with your choice. :sunny:

Rianne, forget those bags.

The best way to protect your film when flying is to carry it in a clear Ziploc bag and ask for hand inspection.

After all, if a bag goes through the x-ray scanner that the scanner can't penetrate, the TSA people will pull it out of your carry-on and hand-inspect it anyway, thus causing you delays and difficulty. But if you simply hand it to them, then you know for certain that it will A) not be exposed to x-rays of any kind, and B) not cause you any delay getting through the screening process (because they will look it over while you and your carry-on are going through the process yourselves).

By the way - your D20 didn't hold up to your Elan 7? I'm shocked. The D20 is an excellent DSLR; my friend who is a wedding photographer has one and is getting excellent pics from it that are as good as those from his A2 - though they don't compare with hi-res scanned pics from his Hassleblad!

Wanna sell that D20 cheap? :earsboy:

I just recently bought a Kodak DX7690 and love it. For the past year and half, I said I wouldn't go digital because I love my Nikon SLR and Canon point and shoot. I decided to give in when I came back from our trip to WDW in April. I came back with over 20 rolls of film. There were quite a few pictures that I would have deleted if I would have seen what they looked like. I will still take a film camera but it's nice to have the digital.

We have also been back and forth about taking our 35mm or buying a digital camera. Last year we brought our 35mm and took about 12 rolls of film. We put them in a baggy, had them hand checked on the way down and on the way back. Brought them to Sam's Club for development and half the negatives were blank and the few that did come out were all dark. We think it may have been during development because all pictures that came out before and after were fine. We lost ALL the pictures from ALL the character meals. Not one picture of my dd and ds with Mickey!!!!

I was so against digital for so long, until last xmas when I recieved a new digi as a gift. I LOVE IT! So easy to transfer pictures, blow them up myself, just print the ones off that I like..not every single one. I know I am getting the picture I want with the screen on back. Just love it .Worth every penny. We are investing in a Camcorder before we go..a new digital one. So, don't feel bad about splurging the little extra to have equiptment that will provide you with the quality pictures you will have when the trip is said and done. I think its worth every penny! We have a Minolta Konica G600. And LOVE IT! Just make sure you have extra batteries, and you have lots of memory! *you can download the cards at the parks though if you run out..just so ya know.*
