Anybody NOT doing the quest?

I'm trying it but I very highly doubt I'm going to make it. Between the waiting to get into the lobbies and the lag and the absolute ridiculous game scores required, not to mention the fact that its taking people upwards of 8 or more HOURS to finish...I just do not have the time to sit in front of a computer for that long, I'm sorry. I have responsibilities in the real world. I'll do what I can to try but I'm just hoping some of the cool prizes go on sale eventually :goodvibes:

I did the quest up to the pirates game and quit. If I try to play, I don't ever win, and some days don't even get back my 21 credits. I get tired of being told I stink (which I do).

My DS 13 tried yesterday, and then tried again today. He tried with strangers and DIS members, friendly and unfriendly games. He gave up after lunch today, and didn't even want to check the DIS to see how it went for others.

What is wrong with VMK and their values when the only way for the majority of players to win this quest is to cheat?

VMK should have its own forum. I mean, there's no other way to organize games like this.

I did not even bother to start quest. Though I did helped friends who wanted to try and get the scores. They should have made you play all the games but with a kind of difficult score not insanely ridiculous like pirates. If they say made us play both pirates game with say over 300 points needed then that would have been kind of difficult but not nearly as impossible for most people. Keep mansion scores, add say 20K in jungle cruise, and say 2000 in fireworks. Then make quest available for a week, instead of just a weekend.

By the way, what were the full prizes for the quest?

I am not strong enough not to attempt this quest. I'm so tempted by the full use TDM, Minnie hat, sliver ears, and the credits! I will be so disapointed when the quest is over, I really doubt I will finish this dern quest. :sad1:

I dont know why, but I have a reason to believe, or at least I feel that these items are going to go on sale.

I dont know why though..

The conventional vmk thinking is that the lightning magic will probably go on sale. The others maybe in other type of quest or program.

I would be very upset to see this, even though I'm dying for every single prize. The people that complete this quest worked very hard, and that would be sad to take that away from them. If they do put all of this on sale, there is only a few words that would come out of my mouth:
You should be ashamed VMK. :sad2:

I think it would be fair. Well, im not sure. But, imo, they should because those who played the quest got the credits and items free. Those who didn't complete can at least get a shot to buy all those things, just not recieve the credits.

So its like, the less fortunate get second prize.

I think they should go for sale also - the credits are enough of a prize for those who finish. Just look at trade boards and see the number of people trading their "second" set of prizes for ridiculous amounts. Their mules are taking up places that the average person who is trying to do the quest once can't use.

For all the efforts that VMK has done trying to level the playing field for all, this quest will serve to widen the gap between the haves and have nots - especially with full use Treasure Detector - now, they don't have to play games as much but just use their magic on the hour to get 2K and 5K on a regular basis. VMK may change the odds of getting the credits but that hurts the little player who only gets 1 use Treasure magic every so often.

Like a number of other people, I quit the quest once I got to the POTC ship battle task.

I don't really like playing pirates (or mansion) in VMK, so I have never achieved much skill with either of these games. I knew it would be fruitless for me to even try to get the required pirates score ...

I hope they do not. I worked hard for two days with friends to do this quest. I did not use mules, I do not have extras. All I have is what I earned the very hard and long difficult way!!!!

I applaud you that you don't have any mules. You are one of the few besides me that would admit this :rotfl: But I have seen several people in game with their 5 star treasure magic, one of them was an in-game friend. He said he got the rest of it from a trade, so obviously other people used mules and got more magic.

That's the main issue right there. I got on for the last time today at around 8:30pm vmk time; there were over 2000 players and virtually all were in the pirates lobby. I couldn't even get to lobby to even help other friends try and get it. While most of those players were going for their first ones, its a good bet that some players were already on their mules and going for more. Like several other dis'ers have said, some players with mules are going to be profiting handsomely from this and the intended audience of vmk "the kids" probably going to be left in the cold.

While I'm not saying they should release all of the items, some of them definitely should/will be released. Like another dis'er said, just with a price tag. It doesn't necessarily cheapen your hard earn items as players will still need credits or some other way to get that item.

I started the quest on Saturday afternoon, and, like others, once I got to the Pirates requirement of 575, I had to call it quits. It didn't help matterst that the Pirates waiting room had a line of 24 waiting to get in. I've been playing the game (again) for nearly 2 months and only just got to the 2nd level of Pirates so my hope of getting 575, even in a group, was rather small. pirate: I guess I'm finished with the quest, dispite that I could never get 75 ghosts.

i'm sorry did someone call this a "quest"? lol! A quest is a search...this "quest" is more like an exercise in manipulating the pirates game...from everything i have read and heard from buddies, the pirates part of the quest is impossible to achieve without a group of friends taking turns in winning the correct amount of gold by sinking one another.

its like finishing a race in which you competed with friends who were told to throw the race at the start...i have friends who regularly play "friendly" pirates in order to make their daily credits, and that's fine if that's what they want to do (boring if you ask me but whatever)....it's entirely different though when VMK actually requires you to play the game in a sneaky way just to complete a quest they designed. this was done with the green car quest too with the large amount of points needed in mansion to complete the quest....

i don't mind a challenge even a difficult one, bring it! but don't have me running around collecting friends together in order to basically cheat my way through a game in order to complete the quest...

not in the spirit of disney imho..

..and i simply quit the quest and moved on, just like i did the green car quest (even though friends offered to help with mansion). it's a choice, play it or don't.....i choose not to, and when i see ppl wearing the new pins for completing the quest i'll give them a "wink" and congratulate them on winning a race they completed with "competitors" who helped by throwing the race lol!!

so NO i'm not participating in it, for the same reason i don't have a green car. and i might be alone here, but in my opinion shame on VMK for esentially encouraging ppl to play pirates like it was not meant to be played...

i know this sounds like a rant, and i dunno maybe it is. but i have not seen a lot of ppl recognizing what VMK has done with this quest, and i suspect its cuz ppl will do whatever to get the cool prizes from the quest. so i figured i'd post a contrast to what most ppl seem to be saying about the new quest lol! not meant to offend :)
