CNN reporting explosion in mailroom at Yale University!!

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - An explosion was reported in a mail room at the Yale University law school, a city spokesman said.



James Foye, a spokesman for Mayor John DeStefano, said he had no immediate information about any injuries.


The FBI (news - web sites) in New Haven said members of the agency's terrorism task force were sent to the scene.


Smoke could be seen rising from downtown.


The incident came as the nation was on elevated alert for possible terrorist attacks and several hours after President Bush (news - web sites) — a Yale alumnus — visited the state to speak at the U.S. Coast Guard (news - web sites) Academy graduation ceremony in New London.

Well, if it was aimed at President Bush they missed by about 65 miles.
I will watch the news at 11 and if there is anything of note, I will post it here.

Amazing how news travels. I work amongst Yale buildings and I didn't hear anything about it til I read it on the DIS!!!!!

Crazy. Thanks for the info though. Hope everyone's ok... and yeah, Bush is certainly not in New Haven as the Coast Guard is way down I-95!

I'll keep my ears open, too.

The Div school is far away from where this happened. Latest is that it was an empty classroom and it sustained minimal damage, no one, thank God, was hurt.
