My friend made me the chicken curry soup from Boma listed on the recipe board a while back.. tasted JUST like it> Tonight I tried to make the tomato bisque from Boma or Kona I believe.. it was ok but a blender does NOT work.. and I don't have a food processor.

I have some norweigan (epcot) rice cream in the fridge right now finishing and some plans for other BOMA recipes for tomorrow.

I really want to try making Tonga toast soon too but didn't get the bread to do it.

Anybody else try making something Disney from the recipe board and how did it turn out?

We make Tonga Toast almost every Sunday morning. Actually I will be making it tommorow for my dd's birthday princess: her request :rotfl2:

Now that I have done it so many times, it's easy. It is time consuming (more so than I'd like to spend on a breakfast food!) And after many failed attempts at cutting the bread and sliding the bananas in "just so" I finally can say I have conquered it :lmao: and it is my families favorite :grouphug:

Here's to conquering the Tonga Toast!!!!:drinking1

Er... I still have to learn.... :coffee:

I often make the honey corriander sticky wings from Ohana as well as Ohana honey-lime salad dressing YUMMY! When we really need a Disney moment to get us through to our next trip, I will pull out our Ohana leis and sing the "Hookie Lau"
along with dinner. My family really enjoys this! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I wanna come to dinner at YOUR house! I think when I have a family of my own I will be just like this :rotfl2:

I can't wait! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Bobotie and Moroccan Fish Stew from Boma are two of my favorite Disney recipes. I didn't get them from here though, rather directly from the restaurant. I have the "Mickey" cookbooks and the cookbooks from the Food and Wine Festivals (along with about a zillion of the old style recipe cards and printed recipes).

I tried to make the french toast loaf. It tasted similar. I think I needed to let it cool longer. I can't believe how much butter and cream were in it... I haven't made it again since I'm afraid of it clogging arteries. :rotfl2:

I have made the cheese and ale soup that Le Cellier serves. It was very good, not quite as good as the original, but close. I made it for a super bowl party and everyone loved it.

I don't think this is news, but in case some didn't know, I got the recipe from the restaurant. I heard from someone that you could get recipes from the restaurants and sure enough, the waitress came out with the recipe on a 3x5 card. I have collected a few others the same way.

I make the Ohana/Concourse Steakhouse sticky wings. Boy do they come out good.

I've been meaning to try the Maui Scalloped potatos from Ohanas. Has anyone ever made them? The recipe doesn't seem right to me - it looks to simple for something so yummy :)

I attempted the recipe for fire roasted corn bread (?) that we had at CP. It was OK, but not as good as CP.
It was a very expensive dish to make and most went in the garbage.:confused3

I made the milk chocolate creme brulee from Fultons and it was every bit as good if I must say so myself.

I just made a huge batch of the honey lime dressing from 'Ohana. My DS was over the moon and said it "tastes like the Hawaii place."

I made the rice cream from EPCOT this weekend and it turned out JUST Like the real thing. I was SHOCKED how easy it was to make! And quick!

Tonight I'm going to attempt tonga toast.

I made the 4 cheese flatbread yesterday.. it was pretty good.

I just have the slaw from Boma to try to make.. seems simple... will make that tomorrow.

I have made a few things...
Tonga Toast- awful- sometime I'll give it another try, as I think this is one that needs to be practiced.
Tie- Dye cheesecake from Pop- Pretty good, kids thought it was cool.
Strawberry Soup- Everyone LOVES this and it is so easy to make. I threw my DD-5 a traditional tea party for her last birthday (just a couple of weeks ago) and this was served, guests loved it.

Ooooh! That sounds wonderful, I loved the bobotie! I would love to have that recipe, is it online anywhere?

I've made Tonga Toast for years, we love it.

edited to say: I found a recipe for bobotie on the DRS, is this the ingredients you use? I thought for sure there was corn flour in it?

2 pounds Corn beef, ground/chopped fine
1 pound Potatoes, shredded
1 each Onion, diced
8 each Eggs
2 Tblsp Garlic chopped
1 cup Milk
2 Tblsp Oil
2 Tblsp Curry Powder
Dash Salt and Pepper

I tried the honey lime dressing from O'hana's...didn't work out that great.

The Le Cellier cheese soup, on the other hand, was fantastic!!! We served it with some soft pretzels...delish!
