Anybody here cruise on the Big Red Boat?

We did land and sea trips with WDW and the Big Red Boat twice when I was a kid - once I know was in 1988 because it was just before my sister was born, and the second time would have been in 1990 or 1991. I don't remember it well, but have seen photos and remember having a nice time!

lived (stationed) in Canaveral 86 - 89 and saw the Big Red Boats all the time! Next door neighbor worked for them ..... Fast forward .... no longer living in Canaveral but taking kids on first cruise .... inaugural year of DCL ..... and moored in Nassau we're across the pier from a Big Red Boat .... with Warner Brothers theming. You could see the "Wh. .the . ****" from the BRB folks looking at the DCL folks . . .

Premier Cruise Line has a very interesting history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_Cruise_Line

We were on the Atlantic in '93. It had the Loony Toons characters. I remember pulling into Nassau, and "the big red boat" was dwarfed by a Carnival ship. I remember my oldest DD hating the "kid club" and she ended up in the 3yr old room with her sister. It was a quick 3 day cruise, then we did 4 days at WDW.

I cruised on Big Red Boat in 95 or 96. I don’t have the greatest memories of the kids club (I was 13/14 at the time) but remember the food and especially the midnight buffets to be excellent. We have met several DCL servers who worked on it as well!

What I didn’t know until recently is that Disney tried to partner with Carnival and Royal Caribbean too after they parted ways with the BRB. They couldn’t agree on terms and that’s when Disney decided to build the Disney Magic and Wonder

Our first cruise ever on any ship was with Premier Cruise Lines (later renamed to the Big Red Boat) in 1987. I believe the ship's name was the StarShip Royale (later changed names to the Seabreeze and since has sunk off the coast of North Carolina). We had characters on the ship for a quick three-day trip to the Bahamas in early January. I remember it being pretty rough on the seas. Yet that trip hooked us on to cruising. We moved from Florida soon afterward (through a downsizing after the Shuttle disaster).

Loved our trip with fond memories. Since then we've sailed on all Disney's four ships, plus other cruise lines on a transitional 15 night Panama Canal cruise, 12 nt mainland to Hawaii cruise, 11 nt Disney transatlantic from England to New York City, plus numerous Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises. Love being on the water. Looking forward to our Alaska trip this summer and a Disney cruise later in 2022. Our Feb 2021 Disney cruise was canceled 😞 .

My family did a land and sea package in January 1992 which was probably shortly before Disney severed ties with The Big Red Boat. I wasn't quite 8 years old and I remember the kid's club I was in was geared towards younger kids. I remember LOVING the ice cream (you could add whatever toppings you wanted). I also remember one of our island excursions was the island where they filmed the lagoon shots for Gilligan's Island! That was the BEST day :-) The man who cleaned our rooms each day always set up my stuffed animals in cute vignettes on the bed. We stayed at Shades of Green for the 3 or 4 day we were at WDW because my dad had just joined the Air Force.
