Anybody heard possibility of WDW connecting monorail to more or all resorts?

doubletrouble_vb, that sounds great, it would also shorten the walk for most of us DVC members who like the BWV, or the BCV.!!!!!

Also it would be a much better way to get to DTD... the monorails to Epcot run much faster than the busses (sorry Chip&Dale Express), and then transferring to a rail would make park hopping a lot easier.

I think the one flaw is that then Epcot would have to keep the monorail running until DTD closes. This would also mean that the parks monorail from MK would have to stay open as well...

HMMM, does anybody know what time they close down?

:bounce:

when we were down in dec. we heard from a transportation manager that they will be building a monorail between POP and WWoS and then try to put all the teams there to help out with the tranportation nightmere

Between Pop & Wide World of Sports??? That doesn't sound like a good use of "the" monorail. Definitely a candidate for a light rail or the type of monorail used at airports. It would do a nice job of keeping the teams & bands from using up bus space but ... I don't think there is anything worth looking at at WWOS...is there? Unless Disney is thinking of bringing major events to that location...I'd love to see them bring back professional beach volleyball...preferably at the end of the January or President's Day. Of course that isn't a major event except for fanatics like me.

I think the only place that needs a monorail is Downtown Disney, three stops-- Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and West side.

It doesn't have to be a monorail per se. It could be a train like OrlandoAirport's. It could be a Chicago El style train. It could be a light rail (trolley) system on a viaduct. It could be a Tomorrowland Transit System people mover. It could even be Disney's existing buses on an elevated two lane busway. But I think there should be something besides buses operating in mixed auto and truck traffic.

in DTD (or anywhere else they connected it). I lived in San Jose, CA when they installed their modern Light Rail system and they went to the trouble to find and restore old trolley cars that used to run on their original system that had been defunct for 60+ years to run in the downtown section. Wouldn't that make a nice contrast to the Futuristic Monorail to have turn of the last century open trolleys? The buses have no "magic", right down to the ads placed between the windows and ceiling.
