I currently have reservations at the Homewood Suites in LBV for our trrip which is just over 2 weeks away, however I've been debating splitting our stay with hotel which has a heated pool and more of a resort feel to it.

Has anybody stayed at the Quality Suites Maingate East? I can get a res for about the same money as the Homewood Suites. Comparing the two, the Quality Suites Maingate has a much nicer resort style heated pool/hot tub/outdoor bar, etc., whereas the Homweood is more of a business style hotel.

I'd love to hear positives and negatives on this place, the pictures LOOK good... but then pictures NEVER tell the true story! Thanks!

We stayed there in a 2-bed unit in November 2000 I think. It was fine, a bit older than some. The breakfast buffet was decent but nothing special and the room where they have it was way too small so we just got our food and took it back up to our suite. At the time I thought it was a good deal, but I've since learned about so many nicer places like Windsor Palms and properties available through Skyauction that I wouldn't consider staying there again. There are many newer and nicer places around for the same price or less.

I stayed at the Quality Suites Maingate East in 2004 and ended up getting comped 2 days for all the trouble and problems we had. It is a very well...ok place. It does seem great and has potential. We were locked out of our room 2 days in a row, there was construction the whole time we were there, we had to call 4 times over 2 days to get a key to our safe...The transportation to the theme parks is just slightly above awful. It was also kind of dirty, we eventually called as there was a big wad of gum on the railing outside our room...by the 5th of 7 days I couldn't take it anymore.

There are also positives to the joint..they do have a descent continental breakfast every morning..nothing great but ok. They have a managers reception (free drinks) everyday. The price is right. The rooms are spacious. There is plenty to walk to from your hotel location.
It wouldn't be my first choice to stay at again, but it wouldn't be my last either. Any other questions let me know.
