Anybody got a trac phone?

STILL trying to lower our bills, and someone at the crop last night had one of these.

I have one and love it. We were paying 80.00 per month for 2 phones we used about 10 - 30 minutes per month with Verizon. I purchased my trac phone, a double minute card, and their one year card. We have not had to buy anything since and the coverage in my area has been pretty good.

I have heard that their customer support is terrible, but luckily I have not had to use it yet. The other thing is if you lose your phone, they will not refund you the unused minutes.

If you do go with Trac phone, it is usually better to purchase the time online at their site. There are usually extra minutes you do not get at the store. Also, try to find a phone with the double minute card included.

We had a couple of them - but just changed over to T-Mobile's similar plan. We really liked Tracfone and would use them again in a heartbeat. That type of "pay as you go" service is perfect for us - not big cell users at all, but like them for emergencies, etc. The 12 months of service and the 1,000 minute plan (+ the phone) cost us only $100 per year and we always had oodles of minutes left over at the end of each year.

I have had mine for about 2 years, and I haven't had any problems. We got it because it was cheaper than having me on DH's cell plan (his contract was up and they let him drop one phone), and I don't use many minutes. I got the phone at Walmart for $12, and it had the double minutes for life thing with it.
