We went last night for the free preview. It was pretty darn good. It was a fun movie and mixed in with the the Hollywood story telling there were a couple of bits of interesting history as well as a real neat look at a lot of historical buildings and sites. It was a little scary at times for my 5 year old. The loud gun shots scared him a little, and there were a couple of mummified corpses here and there. But all and all he loved it as did my wife and I. And the sidekick to Nicholas Cage provided some great comical relief.

We have done "The Incredibles", "Princess Diaries 2"(gave those to a friend) and "National Treasure" all on Disney Visa previews lately. It's been great. I will keep checking the site for new offers and anything I find I will post here right away.

My family also saw it last night. Kids are ages 9 and 11. Perfect family movie for us. We loved the plot and there were lots of funny moments to break the sometimes tense moments. Overall a very good movie for entertaining the family. We recommend.

Us!! :wave2: We saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Like HM, I have a 9 and 11 yr old year old. Perfect movie for our family. The kids liked it so much they want to go to Washington DC to see some of the places from the movie.
Any movie that gets my kids interested in learning more about history, as well as entertains, gets a big thumbs up from us! ::yes::

You can go to the National Treasure website and download a "teacher's guide". (I don't think you have to be a teacher. I am just oing to download it and use it at home.) It has lots of information about the dollar bill and the Declaration of Independence and the different landmarks.

Then go to the Downloads area.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering if the movie was going to be good. The commercials looked good, but I'm glad to hear first hand reports from people who have been. Also glad to know it's a family movie. We've got some movie passes just waiting to be used :teeth: .

I'm going tonight to the Philly one!

My family went to see National Treasure last Thursday night and loved it! We also liked the historical references. I will have to check out the teacher's guide on the website.

We never received an e-mail from the Disney Visa people about The Incredibles movie, but I am glad we got to see this movie early and for free!

I checked out the teachers guide about a week ago, and it does have some interesting facts. Some of it is just fluff, but there are some good "teachable" facts in there as well.

I just came back from the Philly screening. (It was the Family Circle screening not the Disney Visa)

The theater was great, super accommodating. The movie was nice and started on time. The previews were for Hitchhickers Guide, that animated Chicken Little movie, and one more that I don't remember now.

the movie in and of itself was a bit predictable. I've been to DC a lot, and live outside of Philly, so some of it was "Hey, I've been there, or "I worked in that building".

Some things weren't realistic, like the cameras in the Metro tunnels in DC (Have you ever seen how many Metro cops are on the trains patrolling DC?). There were some interesting fun things, and the characters were likable.

My son (9 almost 10) LOVED it. My 7 year old daughter got bored about 1 hour into it. I liked it, and DH liked it but it was predicatble.
