On Saturday I had planned how my morning was going to go. It's my day off, and dh works until 2 PM. That means I only have a good 6 hours to enjoy "me time".
So my cat, Bailey, hops up onto the kitchen counter, and he is limping.
I said, "Come to mama, Bailey", trying to get him to walk some more that I might be able to check out this limp. He walks to me, and sure enough, he's limping on his front paw. I take a look, and he has some sort of GROWTH on his paw pad! Great!
Now I'm gonna have to call the vet as soon as they open and get him in to be checked out.
I put him down, and he walked around limping for a little longer. Finally, I decide I want to figure out what on earth is on his paw. It just looked hideous! I put him in my lap, and turned his paw to where I could get a closer look. (He did not enjoy this examination.)
I thought the "growth" looked suspiciously like something familiar. I decided I would try to just flick it off, and sure enough it flicked off.
It was just a piece of cat food that had gotten stuck to the paw pad, for Pete's sake!
And I was ready to call in an emergency to the vet for this? Could you imagine how idiotic I would've looked showing up at the vet for a piece of food on his foot?!?
